If the Roosters and Dragons are crying poor because they cant retain their juniors, why are both of them coveting Phil Bailey?

You can have him for all I care...but it makes no sense to whinge that they cant retain the players they have legitimately developed (well the Dragons anyway, the Roosters do nothing for anyone) if they are throwing wads of cash at a player like Bailey.

Are the Dragons and the Roosters going to have a battle over who developed him?

It appears to me that Phil Bailey was using Saints & the Anderson fiasco as leverage on a pay rise from The Scummers.

I defy anyone to explain how we could've fitted him under our current salary cap. Any proposed increase would be used by us to keep Juniors we've bred, not "developed" as 24 year olds, or to cherry-pick petulant first graders whose rep careers should come with an asterix :roll:

That is exactly what is has most likely happened with Bailey.

As for Walker who I am gathering that last ciomment is about. His first grade spot should come with an asterix next to it.

I honestly dont think any clubs would be anti salary cap incentives for long term & locally groomed players Exept maybe those who dont develop many players ( wich pretty much singles out 2 clubs Chickens & Ribot United). Brisbane is a prime example, the amount of Internationals & origin satrs they have had 2 let go that they have developed is vey numerable ( not that i care about Brisbane or Bennet theyre just a good example).
