I think from what i have heard an what was in todays paper that kurt will not be with us next year. The paper said today that it was struggling to keep him under the cap.

I have heard allot of rumors that he will follow hages to parra to partner tim smith at 5/8 as morris doesn’t really have the skill to be a first grade 5/8.

Imo opinion, an from what i have heard about our junior halves im not to worried, the likes of walsh an dureau have all huge raps on them as half backs an have all played with mullen.

So what are your thoughts if we do loose kidley.

I've never really rated him as a five-eighth anyway. I would like to see him stay because he can be a really good player under the right coach but i wouldn't be too worried if he left. Seeing that you have mentioned Walsh, Dureau and Mullen as players in reserve grade, we seem to be capable to cover for the loss easily.

Morris doesn't have the skills to be a first grade five eighth? That's a bit rough. I'd rate him above a few of the other current first grade five eighths going around. He just doesn't suit Tim Smith's style of play.

I wouldn't be heart-broken to see Kidley leave, although obviously I'd prefer it if we kept him. I think Mullen would benefit immensely from a first grade partnership with Andrew Johns. Have they paired up before?

Johns and Mullen have played before, I remeber they played together against the Cowboys and Mullen scored 2 tries.

Kidley needs to decide what he wants, to be a hometown hero or a zero at another club.

Hes a good player, not a great and really not a 5/8th. He got an exceptional contract last time around and really hasn't justified the money he got.

Might be time for a little bit of a rethink and a more modest contract to prove himself.

Theres not doubt we are well placed to cover for him, hes good for our roster but not indespensible.

I think he'd struggle at Parra without Joeys influence.

My tip is that he'll stay.

I'll add that the fact that Mullen was signed before Kidley shows his status within the club.

I'm kinda hoping this is an April Fool thing.
Hope Kids can stay, but at least we have Mullen. Would be good to have Mullen and Kids as halves when Joey leaves

I think there will be better options thanthat one to be honest, if Kidley goes it wont be the end of the world, saying that though he's played well so far this year, but he struggles without Johns around.

Well if he goes, next year is the time to leave from out point of view. That way Mullen will get plenty of experience with Johns and we won't have two rookies trying to fill John's boots when he retires.

I think we need Kidley because if he leaves and when johsn retires i dont think Mullen will be able the control the team where as i think kidley can. He is also a pretty good Halfback.

I read in the Rugby League Week that Wests Tigers are gonna be chasing Kidley for next season, as they have lost Scott Prince to the Gold Coast Titans.

It'd be nice if Kidley stayed but only for the right price, and by that I mean 200k tops. He certainly isn't consistent enough to warrant a bigger contract than that. I mean to be honest the most parra will offer him would be around the 250k mark I reckon but then you have to consider that he has to relocate, leave his hometown, be away from family and friends, the higher living cost in sydney and also the fact that he has to re-establish himself at a new club. It really depends how much he values an extra 40k a year or so.

Its hilarious everytime a premiership winning club loses a half, suddenly every single half going off contract is a 'prospect'.

West Tigers probably wouldn't be interesting Gidley, who's more of a 5"8 then a halfback.

Just like the roosters were going to sign K.Gidley 2 seasons ago? Give me a break. He'll be staying a knight.

To be fair, when you've been training at pivot all season, working on team drills and organisation outside of Johns, then a day before the game John's pulls out, its pretty tough.
