Based on some murmurs that Morris may be headed to Newcastle next season..

Would you want him in the team?
where would you play him?
what about Kidley?

Id just keep Kidley if he was on a good amount of money (as in for us, not taking too much money).

If he doesnt accept a reasonable amount then id say reject both.

Keep Kidley, reject Morris. We don't need Morris and Kidley IMO is a good player, maybe not a five-eighth but a good player nonetheless. His defence is extremely valuable to us.

I have never really rated Morris- he was handy off the bench or as a cover for Buderus during rep season, but that is about it. He also hasn't done much at Parramatta. IMO, Gidley has a lot more to offer the team. He isn't a playmaker, but most people's criticism of him comes from his inability to lead the team around on John's absence. If we have a quality half in the team (be it Johns now, or someone else in 2 years time) Gidley's contribution to the team is great.

But thats the problem that we are faced with now. Johns isn't exactly the most injury safe person (Carmont is  i swear he rarely ever gets injured..) and in the case that Johns does fall injured *touch wood* we need someone to take on the playmaker role.

Morris went ok last season when the Eels were firing, he set up a few tries and seemed to go ok with the ball in hand. Johns is the most established half in the team and no other player can even fill half of what Johns adds to the team, which is a testament to Johns' ability.

Carmont has missed 5 games out of 61 since making first grade ... I think one was spent in premier league though. The longest streak any Knight is on is 32 in a row for Craig Smith ... see these Kiwi's have all the endurance! :)

I don't think there's any point in signing Morris - keep Kurt if we can coz he can cover a few positions, but Mullen is the future at 5/8.

Kidley is one of the best paid blokes in the team and simply isn't one of the best players in the team. Offers very little creativity at 5/8th and I'd rate Brad Tighe as a better 5/8th, let alone mullen.

I seem to remember the knights losing pretty much every game without Johns when Morris was playing for us, so i doubt signing him would change that.

Kidley is easily better then Morris at 5/8, yeah he doesn't lead the team around well without Johns. newsflash..that isn't his job. He is only meant to provide a good running and defensive game which he does very well.

If Johns gets injured, our season is over no matter who you put at 5/8 so really...

Hey guys i go to uni with Morris and ill ask him he is pretty open to stuff like that. Yesterday before he knew about Smith quitting he was saying how he throught he was a great coach. He isn't to fussed on Hages. If he is gonna leave Parra he won't be going to the Gold Coast as he said the coach whos North Queenslands trainer whips them in fitness and thats all they do in training, hence NQ being the fittest team in the NRL.

Never been a fan of Morris, his defence is suspect, he and Kidley are similar type players, but Kidley is the better of the two IMO, we don't need Morris, and you have to ask yourself, "if he comes here what area will he offer us improvement?" I can't see any to be honest, there are dozens of players similar to Morris, Dean Wiodders now there's a different kettle of fish.

Meh I'm not interested in Morris ATM. He won't fix any areas where we are currently lacking.

Neither of them truthfully, we've got Mullen as the future 5/8th.

Perhaps Kidley could be a utility / lock or even centre, but not at any price!

Voted 'Keep Kidley, no Morris' - providing Kidley is used as a utility and not a 5/8. There is a lot of value to be had from Kidley being the bench utility, or playing lock, 5/8, or centre for a few weeks to cover injuires. Don't need Morris because he'd do the same job and we already have Brown.

Yeah I'd say keep Kidley. Morris isn't bringing anything special to the table that we haven't already got. We've got a number of players that can fill in the halves if Joey is out (none of which will obviously be as good), and Kidley can play a number of positions if the need arises.

Tell Morris to f**k off.

Keep Gidley, and play him in the centres, but don't pay him too much.

The problem is, we have two centres for next year, so do we want kidley being an extremely highly paid, and somewhat useful, but in the end largely redundant benchie for a season while waiting for his brother to perhaps hang up the boots in 08?

What would people here be willing to pay for Kidley's services? According to this thread he is worth $180K, which I think is about right.

That's for fantasy league and I don't think they are actually what they are being paid.

I voted 'Reject Both'. Only because we have two younger players that, in my opinion, will offer a lot more than Kidley in the five-eighth position. Let's say Kidley agreed to play in another position, i wouldn't mind if he stayed as long as the pricetag isn't too high.
