Kimmorley Responds to Miller

A slow news day all round me-thinks.
Mogg opts for French move

Canberra Raiders centre Adam Mogg has confirmed he wll leave the club at the end of the season.
The Queensland Origin representative had been considering a counter-offer from the Raiders after signing a letter of intent with French club Les Catalans.
He has now opted to take up a three-year deal with the Super League outfit.
The Raiders have already moved to fill the void left by Mogg, today announcing the signing of Brett Kelly from Cronulla.
The 23-year-old, who has also played with the Tigers and the Dragons, will join the Raiders for the next two seasons.
Kelly has scored 11 tries is any many matches for the Sharks' Premier League side this season.
Meanwhile Cronulla captain Brett Kimmorley has shrugged off criticism of the club from former Sharks player Gavin Miller.
Miller has suggested the Cronulla players have shown they are mentally fragile after losing their past three matches.
Kimmorley says Miller is entitled to his opinion, although he would prefer him to be more constructive in his criticism.
"I think it would be just nice if the ex-players or the people who can help us with the club can just be a bit more supportive and a bit more positive and try and offer some assistance on how we can get over it or how we can better," he said.
"But they can say what they want, I think as a group of players we're still pretty tight and we won't be affected by what people say from outside."

Gav himself classes himself as an outsider Reefy. He has said that he would like to have more involvement but hasn't really been asked in the past. IN the article in question Gavin Miller says " from the outside looking in, it looks like......etc etc"

So he IS in the outside. How or why that is the case is a long discussion, but certainly having club legends like Gav, Hatchy, etc around the club and involved is a big part I believe in getting the joint in premiership winning frame of mind.

But hey, club Legends before with the passion and winning spirit have been totally outcast at the club for no good reason other than not agreeing with the board that you reckon are going well. That same board ousted Jon Docking from his seat on the board and made him feel like an outcast at the club.

Not a good thing for any well respected past players.

NOt good at all Beeks.

In reading that though, Kimmorleys responce is a perfect non-committal, political media reaction piece of tripe that tries to hose down any possible division at the club.

It would look pretty bad if he came out and said "Gavs right" wether he agrees with him or not and hes done his job well in this case.

I hear you guys talking about how we should all get the clubs past legends involved etc etc and yet the same lot of people bitch and moan about our crap losing culture.

Those legends never delivered a premiership...

(for the record thats just a slight thought, personally getting the more people involved the better for mine...)

The big question is who or what can help Cronulla win a premiership? We as supporters have had headspins watching Penrith (times 2), Melbourne, Wests Tigers, Newcastle (times 2) and others stroll on past like it was an easy expectation to take the trophy and their time had come.

God only knows when and even if the Sharks time will come. After 1999, it wouldn't suprise me if I turn into a very old man and a world record in histroy has the Sharks never winning a premiership. They need help from as many areas involved in sport, psychology & business as they can get.

Gavin Miller had the right to expect a premiership for the effort, skill & determination he displayed on the football field for the Sharks. One of my all time favourites next to Sludge & ET. Brett Kimmorley already has a premiership ring and I guess it's no skin off his nose to never win one again.

Noddy takes all the criticism from Gould, SMH and other journos, Warren Ryan and fans, but when an ex-captain and legend of the same club dares point out the obvious he bristles.

Funny that.

The funny thing is, Miller didnt even bag them that bad IMO...I thought he was like "mentally they might be treating some games different to another"... it didnt seem spiteful to me...and yes, he and a few others were talking up the team bigtime a month ago...mainly the forwards. I hate it when Brett Kenny is always commenting on the eels, so I dont know how I feel about our old blokes being quoted...although clearly Gav Miller is more intelligent than Brett Kenny...

When Kimmorley can do 1/4 of what Gav could do on a footy field he might have the right to take umbrage. Until then the pretentious little gnome should try
de programming himself from the Andoball sh*t and start fitting into a SHARKS style of play.

Fugg off Noddy.

the andoball sh*te won a grand final and went within ten minutes of getting to another.

gavin was fantastic and the club could well do to utilise him in some format, but what is the sharks style of play ??
