Probably because there is better options than Schneider at 14. As people on here mentioned repeatedly Schneider doesn’t cover as many positions as others and he is rubbish.

Schneider covers 6 7 9 which is what you want for your insurance policy. Add Garner to the 17 and we have comprehensive cover not just CTP.

Agreed although I was still happy to concede it makes sense as halves cover mid game I only wish Ivan would find a way to use him without an injury. Call me crazy but a 3 man bench seems such a waste.

Defensively he is very strong cover, particularly in the halves.

he’s good enough at 9.

Cole can do all that plus Centre and Fullback as well as being a solid defender. Schneider = trash.

I don’t fully understand the negativity surrounding Brad Schneider the coach clearly thinks he is our best option for the 14 in comparison to other options.

Jack Cole in his defence has had limited opportunities, personally I think he deserved more, but he is limited in what he offers as a utility. I tend to believe he is a five eight and that is his true position he really in my opinion not NRL quality as a centre and definitely not as a fullback. Given the fact that Blaize has grabbed poll position for the 5/8 position Jack really doesn’t have a pathway into our NRL top 17 that is the rather sad reality. I think his future lays away from us hopefully maybe the Perth Bears or another NRL club could offer him an opportunity but reality is he has no pathway here.

The Gold Coast Titans coming off a good win, unexpected, away from home against the Warriors, will no doubt be up for this game. Having said that, looking at the sides on paper, form lines, we just need continue our recent form to get the two points here.

That is the issue. In finals games pretty much every forward gets as long as they can play

Patea is a difference maker. The other option is no Shcneider and play both.

Patea is an absolute beast and is capable of changing momentum just by himself. Despite playing limited minutes, he is rapidly becoming the Panthers best prop.

He is IMO already one of the best Bench 'impact' props in the NRL in a similar vein to what Leniu was for us - except Luron is more skillful and has a wicked offload. His ceiling is higher than Spencer if he can improve his fitness level.

We are talking finals rotation, there are no NSW Cup game time needed.

Until then. Senior guys will rotate in and out of the team, this will give the bench guys plenty of game time in either grade

14's are usually only picked due to flexibility. If he was decent half he would be playing NRL somewhere

We don't have anyone actually flexible enough to be a true 14. We just have to make do with covering the spot we think is most vulnerable. If were that worried about Nath, then Schneider is an ok choice. Cole is the best option purely from a flexibility standpoint and would be my pick, particularly given hes played some fullback in cup. But Ivan sees it differently.

My point is that Schneider isn't flexible. Hes a 7. The Nath role is the only one he really covers. We have plenty of other players in the squad who could cover 6 or 9 badly.

I think its at the point I've just gotta concede to Ivan's 3 man bench. I have no problem being wrong hopefully it at least makes sense where I was coming from.

Henry is solid but seems more a working type. You need both types in your side but currently the bench needs a Patea type I think.
