In todays paper it said that matt king has been ruled out again with the ear infection that caused him to miss the roosters win last week, jake webster will again shift to the centres with steve turner back on the wing, its a big loss but as we proved last week its one that we can cover, im still confident of a storm victory, i hope he recovers swiftly and can get back to his damaging best next week against the tigers!

De Kroo reckons Jeremy Smith will play instead of Walker.

What purpose would that serve? If a centre goes out of the team, you'd replace him with another centre-3/4 wouldn't you? Especially with the amount of little quick blokes the Cowboys have.

It's also going to be hot in Townsville today, 29 degrees (going down to 23 overnight!) and already humidity of over 60%, wouldn't want to many big blokes lagging around the park.

Advantage of Jeremy Smith he is a Queenslander playing a lot of QLD cup.

He got a praised by Bellyache on how go he is going this season and he now has his chance to prove it.

The good thing about Simth is that he has mongrel in him and provided he doesn't get binned he will have a big impact up there.

Forget about Jeremy Smith, he got suspended for one match by the QRL after fighting in the game last week.

jermey smith has been ruled out through a QLD cup suspension, adam blair has been put on standby but chris walker might still get a call up, and word has it matt king might also catch an 11th hour flight to get to the game, dean lance said its unprobable but they havnt given up on him yet!

This must be some ear infection! I have had a few in my day, and they hurt like hell but are usually gone in less than a week. Kingy is coming into his 2nd week with it - geez!

it comes back to our discussion about whether turner should be the 4th bench player.......Shadow and I are against it where everyone else seems to see some value in having a back playing 10-20 minutes at the end of the game.

With smith being an 80 minute player, a utility is pretty much out of the question..... unless hill goes to lock and we had someone in the same mold as craig wing to play 5/8

coz....IMO its better to have a prop or a second rower or even a utility on the bench. Not a winger that is only going to play 10-20 minutes.

Yet if King was fit Turner would have done the same thing?

i didnt even understand that.

all im saying is that its a waste of time having a player on the bench that is only going to play 10 MINUTES A GAME. i dont give f**k if it was andrew johns, nathan hindmarsh or darren lockyer...IMO its best to go with a player who is going to have some game time and some sort of impact on the game...not having someone sit down for 60 minutes keeping the bench warm...then coming on, touching the ball twice then going into the sheds for fulltime....

again I couldnt have put it better myself, Shadow is right, whats the point of having a back play 10 minutes a game..... At least with another forward he would get at least 30 - 40 minutes on the field....

Gee, that doesn't half sound biased. It doesn't even have an explanation.

it doesnt need an explanation.... Did Walker do a dam thing against the Cowboys bar get injured...... Playing 10 - 20 minutes and being the player he is , he could only let in more tries than he would score.... the bloke is worse than Lockyer when it comes to defending.... Sure he has pace but he isnt going to win us any games if he comes on the field and we are down by 30 because of the forwards being:

a) tired
b) too small
c) injured

you only have a back on the bench if he can cover the most important positions ie halfback, hooker..... ie Craig Wing, Shane Dunley, John Morris
