One time when I played against Holy Cross we had a play-the-ball on their line and I was first receiver. I was either too wide or too flat or the dummy half was too shit but Kusto intercepted the pass and took it 100m for a try.

You must be f**king slow if you couldn't catch him.

Kusto carved us up a few times. I always thought he was the best player I ever played against, and now when we talk about him as our worst ever halfback it makes me realise how shit I must have been.

David Penna played halfback for a few games there somewhere.

He did indeed. That list I posted only went on the date each player debuted for the club, and stopped at '96. Before that it got too depressing to even look at.

Anyway, Penna made his debut in 1989 which is why I forgot to mention him.

I've heard from people that know Penna that he's up himself but I met him at Ringrose once and he was a nice bloke.

He probably started to get up himself after someone wrote an article about him potentially being the next Peter Sterling.

I really rate the author of the article.

I would go as far as saying that he was the last Peter Sterling.

When 40 year old blokes play in schoolboys comps they tend to think the young quick guys are awesome.
