Kite or Ryles?

I know it's academic now,....but what do Saints fans think, should we have re-signed Kite over Ryles?, Kite has certianly given us value for money this season where as Ryles has been injured on and off for the past 3 seasons.

No doubt everything being equal Ryles is a better player. I am disappointed however to see us lose Kite, Riddell and Firman, I think we had a nucleous of a very good squad. They will be missed.....

Back to the question though, I fear we are losing a player who will play majority of games for us in a season and do a great job at the expense of re-signing a star that just may never return to what he was and suffer further ongoing injuries (aka Ben Kennedy).

I'm not convinced either way, but just a little concerned.

Although if Kite is going to get what it is said he will be getting, he is being over-paid!!

I'd take Ryles over Kite if they're both healthy. Its a good point you made Hollywood that Kite has stayed healthy and been excellent this season but I think that Ryles can get over his injury problems and become the dominant force that we all know he can. He's still only pretty young considering props tend to peak at a later age than other players so he's got time on his side.

Kite is getting overpaid at Manly and I'm glad that the Dragons didn't try and match it because it's way more than I think he's worth. But good luck to him.

I dunno. Like you said, it's all academic now, anyway.

Both players have their pros & cons. Kite is younger (I think) & less injury-prone but couldn't catch a cold. Ryles has the aggression that you simply cannot coach & is tough but has an injury record as long as your arm.

This is why we pay Doustie the big bucks...

Cheers,
Ben S.

Yeah, at the end of the day Kite isn't worth the $$$'s (yet) that Manly were able to offer him.

Cheers,

Losing Kite is disapointing, But we have ryles, who took a pay cut, and the money saved by not signing on Kite again should give us the chance of keeping others, or getting new players. And we also have players like Sims, Poore, Henderson and Norrie, all good props, all keen to play for the dragons, Sims, Poore and Norrie are all under contract, not sure about hendos contract, and they are all young and looking promising, and hopefully injury free.

Losing Kite is a shame, but not the end of the world

work in Kingsbury, live in Maida Vale. Where you at? How long have you been here?

Worst thing about london, i found, is being at work when the origin is played, so you know the score before you get to watch it. So ive got the 7th off. A few snakebites at the Walkabout should be a good thing whilst watching NSW take out a great win i believe.

And I had to wait three weeks for the Saints v Eels game to be mailed over because they didnt televise it here

I work in London Bridge and live in Putney, been here for a year now. You're right about the SoO but I always watch the live updates on this site, I can't wait until I get home.

The Dragons game on Sunday v the Bunnies is on Sky here at 10:00am.

Yeah, ive got that sorted now, the rest of the house know to be quiet and dont even think about touching the remote on a sunday morning. But i was particularly interested in the eels game because i wanted to see how the young blokes were going to go.

The NRL site has videos of all the previous games as well, but without Broadband its a bit sketchy. Better than nothing though.

Probably be here for another year, I'm on the 2 year working visa. How about yourself? Did you go to the pub to watch the soccer last night, we had a chair throwing match at my local after the game. Can't blame them though, they were robbed IMO.
