Trying to do these again lads, I've bene flat out the last little while but hopefully we can keep it up.

I don't think it's unfair to say that was our worst performance since round 1, we didn't look particularly interested and if it wasn't for the knights being so shit we lose by 20+. But hey, we have lost a few where we were the better team through 60 minutes so it's nice to get one back and that's two wins now without the origin players.

The biggest positive was the defence which continuously repelled the knights who had overwhelming possession and field position. I'm not going to suggest they threw a lot at us but you can only defend what's in front of you. It's hard to even critique the attack when we didn't have the ball.

3 Teddy - There isn't much more to be said about this man, he is the best player in the comp. He got us over the line on his own back. If we make the 8 it means we win minimum 6 of our remaining 11 games and in that case I see no way he doesn't win the Dally M.
2 B Smith - Really coming along nicely and evolving into a Campbell Graham type defensive centre.
1 Foketi - For that try, what a stud we have found in him

Some comments on the team in general since it's been a while....

Forgetting this game, I really like the way the team has been trending the last 6 weeks. They seem up for the fight most weeks and arguably were the better team against the top 2 on the ladder, we just couldn't ice the game at the end. I'm loving the development and progress of Marky, Toia, B Smith, Savala, Loelu, Losalu, Foketi, Wong and Steep. This team fully fit with Walker back will be a problem for the top 4 this season and next year with a couple of additions we will be fighting for the top 4 ourselves.

We are in 8th now which is really 9th given Manly have a bye in hand on us but I think we are a genuine top 8 team in 2025 and a home semi is within reach. The next 4 weeks are key with:

Cowboys
Bye
Wests
Dragons

Do the job there and we are firmly entrenched in the 8.

I'd probably have Whyte over Smith.

Again propped up our middle.

Overall I'd like to be probably 1 win better but can see a clear path to a 5-6 finish (which I think was my view at the start of the year).

Then if Sam can integrate quickly we are a shake to be annoying in the finals.

Thanks Val. I've been in Europe for 6 weeks so came back and wondered where these had gone. Had missed them.

Anyway:

3 - Billy Smith
2 - Ted
1 - Foketi

I reckon we'll make the 8 barring serious injury. Really like the way the youngsters and the team itself is developing.

Hope we all get out there this Sunday.
