I remember these threads from Dogs supporters back in 2002. Total denial. You cheated, deal with it.

By being over the cap in a previous year to when we won the Premiership. We lost out trophy.

Rip that trophey from the doggies cabinet. If Storm are cheaters. then so are the Doggies.

it was a while back but from memory most of the penalties applied to the storm and bulldogs are the same:
-forfeiting of all points already earned that season and not allowed to accrue more (the bulldogs were pinged near the end of the season so they had 37 points vs your 8)
-$500,000 fine

the main difference is the stripping of premierships and refunding of prizemoney

There are too few humble Storm fans around, either that, or any noise they're making is being drowned out by morons such as the OP.

Yes, but there is a difference between being a dumb kid and being a prize dickhead.
Right now he, and many many other Storm supporters, choose to fit the description of the latter.

What poart of discolosed" don't you understand?

Having 2 sets of records, and burying the actual ones in your backyard under the rotweiller's kennel is not disclosure.

You cheated - and got caught. Deal with it.

Hahaha.. What a f**kwit.

People like these are making it real hard for me to hope the Storm do well for the rest of the year.

Go back and read that linked site again, focusing on the 'Breach' column for the clubs you mentioned. At no point does "Knowingly and systematically breached the salary cap over five seasons". The breaches made by the Storm are in no way comparable to the breaches made by these clubs, the Storm's being the single largest, most well organized, and deliberately concealed. In comparison, these clubs breaches are the typical technical breaches you see clubs get pinned for year in, year out. Not systematic cheating.

Edit: Not including the 'dogs of course. But that is still a far different scenario than the current one.

This...

And as far as the dogs were concerned, they were under the cap when they won the comp.

The other breaches you'll find if you bothered to enquire about them were handled by the NRL in a just way. Apart from the dogs, who copped a severe penalty none of those teams cheated in any way. So yea, having the police called in, and your parent company calling you a disgrace is a little worse imo.

Well if they were good pies, and a good pie is hard to come by these days then all must be forgiven.
God only knows I'd kill everyone in this room for an Orchards meat pie and custard tart right now, shame they went out of business nearly 10 years ago for rampant drug dealing and accounting issues.
I miss them every day.

Not one of the secret ingredients that were in the pie to make it taste so good?:sarcasm:

The Dogs did not win the comp in 2003.

I felt dirty on the NRL when the Dogs were stripped of their points in 2002, it seemed unfair in a way that the whole club should be penalised for the actions of individuals who got off basically unpunished. Once it all sunk in I could see that it was absoloutely necessary.

Looking back at 2002, I think the NRL handled a tough situation fairly well.

Just between you and me simostorm, I hope the Storm die a slow and agonising death because of the NRLs actions against the Storm. Slow because I want to savour every last bit of your anguish.

Wests Tigers in 2005 were well under the cap from reports something like $500k under.
Well done to them if true, they just played for club and each other a lot were young guys coming thru the grades with Balmain or western suburbs and they got them a preimiership.
I envy the tigers of 2005.

Just a note to Storm fans who think this is all unfair, it isn't. Was I dissapointed in my club when they were punished - yes. But I also understood the reasons for it, and there was no way they should have been allowed to win the comp over teams that were under the cap that season.

The Bulldogs were made to get under the salary cap, and then won the comp, therefore their premiership will remain. If the Storm get under the cap and win next year, then good on them and it will be recognised as a legitimate victory.

As for all the others you mentioned, none of them are deliberate acts. So far there have been only two deliberate acts revealed and both of those acts were punished accordingly.
