Gave up halfway through the game? We deadset stopped trying at about the 20 minute mark. And then there's the Sharks. They stopped trying after about round 10 this year.

If the Broncos had lost, THAT would have been a choke. So you cant say that the knights choked if you could have said the same thing about their opposition.

as its been said over and over again in this thread, just losing a match is not "choking". the scoreline has nothing to do with it, the only way you could have called the Knights chokers is if they had been expected (big favourites) to win, which they clearly werent.

I do believe that if the Storm dont go on and win the comp from here than yes that would be considered a choke of some sorts because they won the minor premiership by such a big margin, having only lost 4 matches for the entire season and then to lose the Grand Final would be a choke.

That is definatly a choke, to be winning by such a margin and pretty much have the match wrapped up then to be run down like that is a massive choke.

Warriors 66 d. Souths 0 - IMO not a choke at all, warriors were expected to win, no matter what the final score ended up being.

Am curious to know what the point is in haggling over terminology. However you look at it, the Knights performance was a disgrace, and deserves to be censured. Whether or not it was technically a 'choke' is really quite irrelevant - it was an atrocious performance, whatever you want to call it.

How can it possibly be a choke when we were missing our two best forwards in Buderus and Simpson. In saying that, I'm not denying that we played terribly and Brisbane deserved their win.

Your 2 best players didn't drop the ball, fall off tackles, & stop them from keeping a straight defensive line.

I think the only reason there has been "haggling" about the correct terminology is because it was used incorrectly in the first place, it was merely a correction. I completly agree that the knights were disgraceful and deserve all the criticism theyre getting, but we should at least be accurate about it. you can hurl all the abuse you like at them for the performance they put in but to call them chokers is just being ignorant.

It's probably also because 'choke' is a loaded term on these forums, and a team choking is probably worse for a team's integrity and character than being simply beaten (or flogged, as the case may be).

ok.

let me explain why i call it a choke by the knights.

johns, first penalty shot. after he missed it, the guy just laughed it over like it was nothing. after that, the whole team didnt even look like they wanted to play anymore. they got eaten and they treated it like they were used to it.

oh yeah, johns was throwing bigger hospital passes than what kimmorley does and i will admit that is pretty sh*t effort, especially by the best halfback in the world.

lockyer, 10 times the fullback he is than half, out-played your little joey all night.

and i loved every minute of it.

and dont give me tripe about it was because buderus and simpsons were missing.

brisbane didnt just attack through the middle.

carney, one of the best wingers this year, got trampled on like he was a turd lit up in a paper bag.

the whole team played like sh*t.

hence the 44 point margin.

go suck on that.

just like your mob did against Penrith in round 24?

if you watched the game, you would have noticed the lack of forwards we had sitting on the bench that week (which was the same case every other week). our fuggwit of a coach rotated our fullbacks more than he did with our forwards.

but you see, i can admit that about my team.

you could have used a better example than that, dont forget the first game when we bitch slapped you by 40+ points. preston didnt know what to do.

poor bugger...

ps. i would be ashamed to have my teams banner in my sig if i were you too...

And look what Preston has in his possession once he left your shambles of a club - a premiership ring! And I do recall in that same season our mob carved your team up 20 nil (with Preston scoring the last try!)

Look what happened when covell left the West Tigers - they win a premiership!

Take the hint moron. Your club is useless. Your club can't breed success. Your club oozes failure. Need I go on??

ahahhahaha you truly are an idiot. Nobody is questioning that the knights played like sh*t, we all know that, we all saw that. but as we've said over and over and over again, JUST "LOSING" DOES NOT MEAN "CHOKING". You seem to think that just because the knights were flogged that they choked, what im saying is that you dont seem to understand what the term means.

The knights were NEVER favourites to win, im sure their fans hoped they would put up a bigger fight than that but thats not the point.

Ill try to dumb it down further for you.

Choke = Being overwhelming favourite to win (usually a big game), but not winning.
