Precisely. I have never understood those who didn't like Groges -- he was nimble, reasonably quick and a pretty solid player. I can't ever recall there being this much ill-feeling when he was playing... were these people around when he was playing?

because he couldn't catch

Yes we have had worse, but grogan was very ordinary. He spent a lot of time in reserve grade and there was a reason for it

Grogan was a matchwinner on his day. A bit like Milton Thaiday, brilliant one day, shi*house the next.
But he is the type of player you need to have in your side to win you games....and Grogan did do that for us.

Peter Shiels? He can't make that team, he was solid. Even Slammin Sam Stewart dropped some absolute clangers, as did Marquet, but boy could they defend. Thaiday should be on that list, my mates are Knight's fans & they crap on about him & how he should have been chosen for Origin & Australia (needless to say, one-eyed), but god he can be frustrating to watch. Makes a burst through the line & then slows up completely, drops balls all over the place. Great player on his day but shocking on his next. Should be on the wing, with Seage at fullback next year.

For the older guys on here- what about that Tony Herman on the wing- he had hands like, well, he didnt have any!!He was very fast but couldnt tackle and was less than impressive when it came to catch-pass.He used to frustrate the life out of me.

hahha he was my coach at the Gymea Gorillas a few years ago. He is a top bloke off the field but even I'd have to agree he was pretty ordinary for the Knights.
