I came on here to find out who played well in WENTY.
This thread and the under 20's thread along with squad succession id like too keep the bull$hit out and arguments. Its informative. Now i just scrolled thru 2 pages of $hit.
Lets try and have a few manners on the forum please!

Thanks mate. At least I knew how many pages to go back to avoid the Kelly argument.

Maybe he is not talking to you individually, He may be talking to the collective you - 'youse', if you prefer. So don't take it personal. Funny how when you twist people's words that's your answer.

Well it's certainly possible. But if you look at the search link I posted, the only example belonged to hineyrulz.

But you're right, maybe he is twisting somebody else's words? I'll still call him on it though.

Mitch Cornish played pretty much as well as he could have, especially with BA in attendance. Defended well with the Roos directly plenty of traffic his way and was obviously dominant in attack.

Danny Wicks and Rory O'Brien were pillars up front. Both played big minutes with Wicks playing a huge stretch from the start and were highly physical in attack and defence. Wicks will be very hard to keep out of first grade next week, almost certain to form part of the extended bench while O'Brien looks to be a really fascinating project.

Tanginoa spent time on both the edge and in the middle and did quite well in both capacities. He looked waaaaay more comfortable on the edges compared to his last stint there for us back in 2014. Got one short break but otherwise played a long, quality game. Scored a superb individual try where he left defenders strewn in his wake from ~30m out. Good to have him back home.

Cody Nelson was also very good. Typically industrious performance from the newly installed captain. Scored a try after running a good line off Zach Nichols in the first half.

Out in the backs I thought Bureta Faraimo played quite well while both centres were very good. John Folau put together his best overall performance in a long time. Really clean in defence, lots of good work coming out of our own half and actually resembled the massive red zone threat he should be.

Barring one bad read that lead to the first try for the Roos, Vai Toutai was also on point. Physical in defence, bullish in the red zone and following on from some of the circus tricks he showed us in the Nines he shows surprising deftness at times.

Think the 3,2,1 is pretty clear with Tanginoa's second half effort propelling him ahead of O'Brien.

3. Mitch Cornish
2. Danny Wicks
1. Kelepi Tanginoa

Interestingly enough Isaac De Gois got player of the match at the after match function

Fair enough from a player's perspective. Churned out 80min at hooker with Cameron King slotting in at right half to cover Nichols. Some great shots in defence and some hustle in cover defence/chase.

Thanks mate., good positives from the game by the looks of it. Good to hear a number of players had terrific games.

Some players do a good job without standing out.

Oh I'm sure you're well aware of that too...;-)

By the way, I want to give John Folau a wrap, I heard a lot of whispers over the summer where the coaching staff was not impressed with his attitude to training and I also heard that he came back after the Christmas break carrying more kilos than he should of so obviously didn't expect him to bounce back the way he did today after his hammy strain in the 9s.. He showed a lot of commitment and hunger out there and really terrorized his opposing centre with some strong runs...a real good display all round.

How was Gower today, any thoughts Staggs (or others)?

Had a decent enough hit out without standing out, he played a typical lock forwards game gave the ball some air and assisted Cornish well after Nichols was concussed early in the second half.

Fair enough. Behind Wicks in pressing for first grade by the sound of that performance, despite Gower having originally been selected in the Round 1 17.

I wouldn't necessarily say Gower and Wicks have interchangeable roles in the team, even if they do play the same general position (middle forward).

However I suspect Wicks is part of our leadership group and probably close to a top 17 certainty when fit. I dunno, De Gois is probably in the leadership group too.

I guess Wicks does what Alvaro does only with more speed and aggression. Gower has a lot of skill plenty of our forwards don't have (plus he can play on the egdes) but Kenny Edwards has that bench role covered.

Does wicks replace Álvaro or Peni?
