Tui needed the aid of two trainers to get off the park. Not looking good.

Goodall saves another try with a quick bat down on the money ball.

3min to go.

And that brings up the 50 as the grubber in behind our left yields another try. Wenty have nothing in the tank and I am not even sure if we are defending with a fullback on the line at this point.

Conversion is good.

Score is 52-22.

79min gone.

WTF??? Watched the first half and missed most of the second, just checked the score unbelievable. Did we even come out for the second half?

Look for the haters in the press to talk about the shambolic eels getting chased down 30+ again.

To be honest, you can't blame the team for this defeat, the ref has decided this game - some absoluletely horrifying decisions set the momentum so one sided, and tries awarded that should not have been

I am sitting here gobsmacked at how awful he was

Wenty repel a very long string of passes and close out the game by bringing down Jeremy Hawkins.

Full Time

Mounties 52 DEF Wenty 22

Words fail me. Wenty could have played better in the second stanza but the officials took the game away from them. The most one sided reffing I can recall in a long time.

The first 4 tries they were awarded in the second half, we're not even doubtful, they were dead set a joke. Don't go hard in Wenty , they were the nearest thing to victims I have seen in a long time

and to think some commentators in the game like Phil Gould want video refs to go and is against the bunker system. f**k that. Imagine losing a GF on the back of some of those decisions.

Yes the officials were terrible and cost us that game. (Funny it all started When Henry went off injured). For mine I thought Faraimo, Matterson, Henry, Gorman and Nelson all played well for us. But we had some dumb performers out there too.
For the Mounties Ahearn, Hawkins, Cornish, O'Donnell, Nicholls, Lynch and Page all played well. If any of them are off contract we should look at them for our depth. They all look to have the talent to play NRL. Was also good to see Mills back playing in the NSW cup. Clearly carrying injury but he's another if fit I'd like to see come across to us as a winger.

Hard to pick a 3,2,1 to be honest. Our halves were tidy, Quinlan was clinical from the back before the gulf in possession and in game injuries took him out of the game. Aloiai, Gorman and Nelson all busted their guts all game. Even Tui Kamikamica did a ton of work from the bench. Goodall and Faraimo also did some really good things.

Maybe something like:

3. Quinlan
2. Nelson
1. Aloiai

Could have shuffled all 3 votes around though.

The touchie's decision in the Hawkins try was incredible. I can only think that the Wenty who was standing off the field got in his road...you can see the touchie stretching to try and see around him. But still.....

2014 Phil Henderson makes NRL Debut

The Board of the NSWRLRA would like to congratulate Phil Henderson, who makes his NRL debut this weekend. He will become the 133rd Official of the NRL at Carrington Park, Bathurst.

He will be the touch judge on Saturday the 26th of July, when the Penrith Panthers play the Cronulla Sharks in Round 20 of the 2014 NRL Premiership.

Phil was graded in 2008 and his NSWRLRA Number is 931.

Incidentally, his father Glyn was also a first grade touch judge, who was graded in 1991 and has a NSWRLRA Number of 798, with a highlight of being appointed as the touch judge to the 2003 NRL Grand Final.

Dad (Glyn) was quoted to say

"Very proud and extremely happy for Phil.
He has worked hard and deserves his appointment.
I hope he goes well and remembers to put the flag up when the ball goes out"

Thanks to Don Staurt for the photo of Steve Menzies presenting his first NRL jersey to Phil Henderson
