Tago somehow got extended into the top 30 for 2025, Dunster was already there , but Tago is suspect in almost everything. Tries hard but not really this level player
Tago is definitely good enough for this level, as is Morgan Harper. It's reserve grade and they are backups.

Will be interesting to see if Hawkins and/or Volkman are fit to play/good to go in this grade in the finals... Though Hawkins has only played 7 Cup games this year (captain for 4), and Volkman 19 Cup games (captain for 5).

I think the eligibility for finals selection used to be playing 8 or more Cup games, or playing a majority or an equal number of their games in Cup (compared to NRL or Flegg), or having qualified for finals in a lower grade (but being selected higher)?

Bailey playing today gets him qualified on the equal number of games in Cup and NRL (6 each). But Hawkins would have needed to play his 8th Cup game today to qualify (having played 12 NRL games this season)?

According to the good folk at RLP, the following players have played 8+ Cup games this season - or may have qualified for finals through the other ways...

Apa Twidle
Bailey Simonsson - less than 8 games, but played equal number of Cup/NRL games
Araz Nanva
Jake Tago
Haze Dunster - apparently injured today
Richard Penisini - reported out for season
Samuel Loizou
Liam Scolari - 5 games including today, possibly qualified via lower grade
Zach Hunter - 2 games, possibly qualified via lower grade

Ronald Volkman - not selected in Cup last two rounds
Matthew Hunter
Lorenzo Talataina - 5 games including today, presumably qualified in a lower grade?
Joash Papalii - has been playing NRL since May so that would be cheeky
Joey Lussick
Meni Luke - not selected in Cup today

Wiremu Greig
Toni Mataele
Tyrese Lokeni - not selected in Cup today
Dan Keir
Brock Parker
Jordan Samrani - hasn't played Cup last two weeks
Saxon Pryke - hasn't played Cup last three rounds
Kayne Kalache - hasn't played Cup since July
Will Latu - hasn't played Cup since June
William Lewis - 5 games including today, possibly qualified via lower grade
Jeziah Funa-Iuta - 4 games including today, possibly qualified via lower grade?
Ryda Talagi - 2 games including today, possibly qualified via lower grade
Ieti Samuelu - 1 game, possibly qualified via lower grade?

So from the above qualified players, taking into account presumed injuries, would our best choice finals Cup squad of 22 be:

Twidle
Simonsson
Nanva
Loizou
Tago
Papalii
Volkman
Greig
Lussick
Mataele
Samrani
Keir
Parker
-
Luke
Pryke
Lokeni
Lewis
Funa-Luta
Lorenzo
Hunter
Scolari
+?
