In 2027 he is in our top 30 so they must rate him I imagine. Time seems to have gone for Matalele. After his debut I was hoping he stayed at NRL but he must not have what it takes. He may end up a solid back up

Mataele has good mobility for his size but he has no power.

Clearly 4th in the Hooker depth chart behind Lussick (as demonstrated by the few games we had to persevere with him playing first grade when Smith was suspended).

I'm just glad we're not doing what we did in 2023-4 and randomly playing him at 6 in NSW Cup. It's a much better practice development wise to give some of the Flegg and SG Ball eligible players some vital experience.

Shame to hear about Hunter, but it does seem like Talaitana and Twidle (from the chance he got in the trials at the start of the year) are being prioritized. Coupled with Joash being tried at 6, there's not really room for Hunter.

Is this rumour mill or confirmed? Not being a smart arse just genuinely curious as i cant seem to find anything. Sad to hear but i guess we have some youth depth in that position but would've liked to see him competing for the 6 spot next year with joash and lorenzo if we dont sign anyone
