This is the first time I've been able to sit and properly watch one of our NSW Cup games this season.

While the talent is most certainly there, its clear we lack in the most basic areas of the game right through the club. The two main things being discipline and communication.

This is why we need a Des Hasler or a Shane Flanagan in as head coach ASAP - and these guys will no doubt influence getting the right staff members in at the lower levels as well.

Agree discipline has been non existant since Bennett left. We need a hard head to clean the place up & get rid of those who make the same mistakes week after week and continue to be picked week aftyer week. We are all sick of it.

Defence was crap, missed way too many tackles to win a game, when does this club get serious about defence?

We are poor but ref is screwing us.
Lobb penalised for a good tackle
Can't buy a penalty.
Raider losses the ball and we get penalised and they score.
Many calling for Max Faegai well he's ordinary today.
North's must of had a off day for us to win last week
Spud Carroll has made so.e good comments.
Too many soft penalties.
Do you think Couchman is worth a bench spot in fg? Seems little between him and Toby and these guys should be our future if we play it right. Bird is a deficit in his current form.

I'm still not sure what we're doing with the Couchmans, they seem to be played as props, but they both want to be 2nd rowers... Toby in particular I thought for sure he would have got BMM's spot or Sua's if he is injured.. then maybe we will know how well he's going.. it might more be that Hook just needs more bench props... and Toby can handle a short stint.

Kerr and Musgrove and even JHunt I think are well in front of Ryan as 1st grade bench players though... but I getchya re: the future. Someone said in the other forum that Ryan missed 12mths thru injury, thats whats caused Toby to pull ahead (for now).

I don't think anyone is necessarily blocked, the 1st grade team is going that poorly.. I can't be sure any of that 17 (bar tcouchman and I guess Sua/Liddle) have a guaranteed spot in the future.. even more so in NSW Cup, that team has been desperately begging for some kids to come up and play good footy.. and finally put some pressure on the 1st grade.. plzzzzz.

In the Case of Tamale, he could easily play wing also yeah, im sure he will find a way up if he keeps developing, he still has to get into the NSW Cup team yet, by the time hes pushing for 1st grade.. who knows.. Suli I dont think is a longer ctr for us either.. but we gave away all of his centre competition... bar Max Feagai, who im still not sold on being fast enough for 1st grade.. despite the good game 2 weeks ago.

Will watch our next game v roosters with great interest. Particularly young Sevilio Tamale.
Started the season in SG Ball
1 game in Flegg
Now up to reserve grade.

Also scored a nice try in the 1st grade trials, showing some strength.

Pathways.
Wow, I expected to see Tamale play 2-3 reserve games towards the end of the year. the fact that he's already up there is outstanding, good on him

I must admit I haven't seen anything but highlights of Tamale but whilst he appears to be a strong runner he doesn't seem to be genuinely quick? Happy to be corrected if that isn't the case.

I just saw that Tamale was named in NSW Cup, I thought he was just promoted from SG to JF last week?

I didn't realise his promotion was coming this fast, but its a good thing, we picked him up as a budding rugby star to fast track.. But let's see how he handles nsw cup for a few months before we worry about 1st grade.... But im definitely excited to see athleticism and speed in the cup backline.. And def keen to get shereb out of the backline. Shereb was such a prospect but he has to show something, or there are a bunch of young 2nd rowers who will take his spot.

Tamale is an interesting one. His pathway is obviously blocked by suli lomax and feagais, so what’s the plan with him?
Well Suli may not stay past his deal. Also, Lomax, as avidly as I supported him, seems to be a one-trick pony. Blew us away with his value in terms of that flick, the step and his aerial abilities. But he hasn't adapted very far past those skills which you need to be a great FG player, and I honestly think for his personal development as a player, a different club would be suitable.

Anywhere but the Dragons. People come here, and they either deteriorate if not play roughly similar to how they did when they left their other clubs.
