Who are you thinking about? I suspect there wont be any radical changes for the Tigers game.. but if we dont win that.. who knows.. SFinau is the obvious inclusion given hes in the dev squad and Feagai is struggling.. noone else rly stands out bar maybe RCouchman getting a game before end of year.. You could throw Tui in off the bench.. Musgrove I think needs to be on the 1st grade bench every week.. Oh and Tamale.. I wouldnt mind him getting a crack with Suli into the vacant 2nd row spot.. def some options there.. but tbh im more interested in seeing KOE play some finals right now :p I rly miss finals..
Meant tui auto spell check
Be nice someone that can bend the line

Bird was solid enough, couple of nice moments in attack.. didnt do anything silly in terms of trashtalking or penalties.. would love to know if he's been unable to train in recent months or whats happening with those knees.. would be devastating for him if he is facing medical retirement.. hopefully it all gets cleared up for us fans before the off-season, he would be on decent coin too.

Nice short pass to put Johnson into the gap, where Stewart scored in the 2nd half..

Yes , very good effort I would think against the lower grade champions in Penrith ? Perhaps pathways has a life after all.
Both our teams yesterday were under strength due to the extended squad required to cover resting guys from the SOO and family commitments , but well done on getting the wins you can only play whats in front of you.

Rev thanks for the wrap up. Do you think this is worth a shot in first grade
We have to remember that some of these guys Tamale, King-Togia, Hamish Stewart, Ben Johnson, Egan, unless mistaken were playing Flegg early this year, perhaps even Ball, so that is some fast tracking. Nicholas Quinn who was a Ressie reserve for one game also in that club. We can at last look ahead with great hope at the heartening promise this group of juniors, both St George and Steelers, are showing as they move rapidly thru the grades. Then there are Loko Jr, Jacob Halangahu, Latu Finau with all three named in the Aussie 18 yrs Schoolboy side. Plus Jake Webster, Corey Ackers, Ashton Ward who have all made the fast move from junior reps in a year, with some named as Flegg reserves. Ackers for one, was playing Matts last year.

Agree.. I mean we arent dominating lower grade competitions like the Dogs (or Panthers in years gone by), mostly due to such a poor first half of the season, but there are more and more of these young sort of 16-19yr old kids starting to stand out.. and look like potential first graders..

The part that has messed up the 1st grade side is there were a couple of really lean years for us (around covid), and years when there were no young star forwards (bar Coric) coming through.. so im super excited about this young brigade.. but they are still a few years out like you said... and we cant bring them all through at once.. we need real first graders in 1st grade, and sort of 1 maybe 2 kids at a time getting bench time or for injury cover... we need them to want to be in our system and bide their time under Flanno...

Something Gus said ages ago kind of threw me at the time.. that the Roosters were the best junior development team in the comp.. and im like 'um what'.. but what he was trying to get across.. is that getting them to that 16-18yr old age is important (obviously).. but turning those kids into first graders is a different challenge... its very difficult.. and its something we have really struggled with.. even our best prospects took forever to actually reach 1st grade standard.. thats the part that I think Flanno will have his hands on, and in a few years I think we will be rolling (I hope).

The hardest bit I think.. will be picking which guys to bring through, which to let go.. and who to bring in from external to complement... thats the part I hope we get Browny for.. we cant keep them all.. esp when we end up with a glut of 2nd rowers for example.. some may end up in other positions.. but picking the most promising in a position is crucial to the clubs success.. its a huge opportunity cost to getting it wrong... seems like a fulltime job managing that alone.

NickT (easier to spell) definitely got potential.. seems fearless.. hits like a hammer.. reminds me of a Liam Martin.

But too early to know for sure.. it honestly feels like three quarters of our talent coming through are 2nd rowers.. or were.. if the couchmans end up at prop or lock.. then maybe Egan and NickT are our cup 2nd rowers next year.. and maybe they will move Burns on purely for that reason.. unless they see him in 1st grade.. its a tough one.
