JF play their final home and away games next week (as far as I know)

We are currently in 3rd after our win today, however, that is very tenuous 3rd, as the Panthers who are 6th play the last placed Rabbits tomorrow.

There are 6 teams vying for the top 5 for the finals (again I believe its the top 5 that play finals)
Roosters and Knights look safe as positions 1 and 2
Dragons 3rd (28 points), Tigers 4th (28 points) , Sharks 5th (27 points) and Panthers 6th (26 points).

If the panthers win tomorrow, and they really should in a canter against the rabbits, that will take them to 28 points and leapfrog into 3rd spot on for/against.

Now for the stress part (final round)
Panthers have a bye ie: 30 points and 3rd spot
Dragons (4th) play Tigers (5th) an away game for us.
Sharks (6th) play Dogs (7th) with the dogs unlikely to qualify even if they win.

Scenarios:
Dragons beat the Tigers - we play finals football finishing 4th or 5th.
Tigers beat Dragons - Tigers go to 4th and we have to rely on the result of the Sharks v Dogs game.
If Sharks beat the Dogs and we lose to the Tigers we are out.
If the Dogs win and we lose to the Tigers we still finish 5th.
If we beat Tigers and Sharks beat the Dogs then the Tigers miss out.

All to play for next week for us, and probably explains why we dropped back a few eligible players out of the KOE Cup squad today.

We aren't any chance of qualifying in KOE Cup, so it seems.

I'd like to see us go back to the days when the first-grade bench comprised of players who had played at least half a game in reserve grade. And reserve grade to be played as the curtain raiser to the first-grade game.

Make it so that all NRL licenses require a reserve grade team and I would rather see 10 players on the bench with the rule, 'when you come off, you stay off'.

All wonderful suggestions, but none of it will ever happen with the current regime in charge.

We had them on toast with 15 to go. Clocked off too soon. What happened. Complacency, lack of discipline, certainly a lack of ball plus their huge pack being allowed to offload at will. Coach Willie Talau will be working these blokes heavily at training.
Is it true that the Dragons will not field a Jersey Flegg Team in 2023?

I believe it was proposed but has since been shot down. But, who knows. A complete travesty and dereliction of duty by the Board to even propose it and think it was a good idea.

Growth and junior development is paramount in today's environment, particularly with more teams joining the competition.

Whoever in the big room thought of dropping the JF Team in 2023 would have shit for brains. As you say Dragonslayer, in today's league environment and for the future, development and growth in the juniors is so important and the more pathways that are available to them would enable those kids to improve their skills and gain experience that will determine if they will make the big time.

Considering we bang on about been a development club and have the huge Illawarra junior base would be a pretty stupid idea.
