Yeh, there is no need.
There is actually as we are now flushed with some quality outside backs that will struggle to make Firsts. Moving Suli to the edge opens one spot for one of these strugglers. Suli can handle the edge imo while Luch will make a terrific impact middle man .

It won't happen this week, but we need to do more to balance our team and be competitive. Speedy outside backs and big first-grade forwards are what we need to compete.

In the forwards, Kleemmer seems to be the only new player available to us. However, we need a few changes that would add size and mobility. Shifting Luciano to prop and Suli moving to replace him in the second row makes sense. Lawson's move to Suli's center position should work a treat. Tomorrow's Cup game will tell us more, as Lawson has been selected at center. I'd say Lawson has the size and skills to do well at center at first-grade level..

I must have. The old marbles aint what they used to be.
These days, a few of us over 70s make a little mistake now and again. It is all Ok, mate; they will also go through the same when they grow older.

Importantly, you and most of our other older members have contributed greatly to many conversations on this forum over the years.

I dont know .. it just feels like weakening your middle so you can weaken your edge so you can weaken your centres.

Suli and Luc trialled very well in their respective positions.

Lawson's pathway has to be via the wing. Whilst we have a lot of wingers in the squad, the subset of wings who are fast/strong runners/good defenders/good in the air is very small ... Initial indications are he has a lot of those tools in his kit bag.

Possm i highly respect your opinion but i have to disagree with you here. Suli is killing it at centre and i heard on bloke in a bar podcast the other day the boys talking about him as an origin smokey. Luciano would be wasted at prop he has a lot of skills on the edge that wouldnt be utilised. Flanno will have to find a solution or start blooding some of the young blokes quickly to take up slack in the middle.

Pleased to see a large contingent from Saints Ball Cup winning side (bold). Flegg should make a strong push for the trophy this year. They should also have the services of Jake Halangahu and Nick Tsougranis at some stage too to bolster the pack.
A lot of backs and halves coming through.

Ryan Hutchinson is the one to watch for mine.

Absolute tear away. Raw boned and mean.

Reminded me a bit of Tallis when I saw him last year.

If we could have landed a couple of good props during the off-season, i.e. AFB, May, Safiti, Thomson, then maybe there would not reason to rebalance the 17.

The lack of talent, size, and experience in our current forward pack would be addressed with:
Leilua is moving to the front row
Suli is moving to the edge-forward position.

When it comes to a player like Lawson, you can be sure if we do not find a position for him in first grade, another club will and may regret our decision for a long time.

Remember, we had three stars of the competition Flegg side. They were to be the next best thing. Now we only have one of them left and the club and he (Sloan) is struggling to make first grade.

I say, let our bright young stars gain selection to first grade on merit. The Couchman boys are a good example to follow.
