Could somebody please give details on KOLPACS - e.g. - what does it stand for, countries included etc.

There's a few recent threads about it on here (see below).

I think Kolpak was the surname of the European sportsman who successfully challenged restrictions on foreign nationals from competiting in national leagues (in handball?) based on nationalities in a European industrial relations court.

The ruling (the Kolpak ruling) is said to extend to other sports (ie league) and covers other nations with similar trade agreeemnts with the EU, ie NZ/Pacific Islands.
