What do we do with him?.I just dont know about him, everybody says he's the future playmaker who'll lead us around the park with his skill.I have'nt seen alot that says he will be doing this.He does'nt appear to be a centre and barely a first grader imo.Would he be better off coming off the bench for us so that we can find a decent centre with a bit of speed etc.

Its been plaguing me all season, I can see that he has great footwork, he 'looks' slick when he goes sideways looking for a hole (lil bit of benji in his flow).... but thats really the extent of it, hes less of a burden @ centre, but nothing he does really excites me or helps me understand where he is going to fit in the squad.

I assume/hope he just needs more time, but Im starting to think we need to put Chase/Green or Vidot in at Right Centre and get Kyle back to Cutters in whatever position they see him in (5/8 perhaps), and let him learn his craft out of first grade, because I think its too much pressure for him, he has tried to put a couple of kicks and passes on and it hasnt gone well, maybe we have him in too early?

Opposition look at our team, see Kyle's name and view it as a weakness in our team. I believe he may well be full of potential but I agree about getting him some practice in the halves with the cutters. We have better specialist centre options despite Stanley's yet to be realized x factor.

On the training paddock i'm told Kyle shows some freaky Benji type of brilliance.
Perhaps Kyle is the type of player that can't be coached into the Bennett style of play.
He may be more effective if he plays off the top of his head like Benji does.
But where do you play him??
There is no doubt he is a gifted athlete, i hope he does find his confidence, otherwise he may end up similar to Chase, full of potential but never delivering.
Play him in the halves in the cutters..

Have to agree with the above comments so far...I have also been waiting for Kyle to start to live up to this so called talent he has and start to show it on the field ...whilst I dont expect him to be a match winner every game he has very little impact in attack...Im sorry but he doesnt excite me at all at present ..... I hope he proves me wrong but I just cant see it at the moment.

Hey everyone, please tell me who in our club has played well at right center this year. Even Gaz found it difficult playing to his potential last year.

The problem is that the service to our right center is not up to scratch. If you looked at the game last night, Thurston was puting his centers through holes or making the extra man or drawing the opposition away from their set defensive pattern. Hornby did none of that and by the time Stanley got the ball, it was either a hospital pass or he had nowhere to go but side ways.

Most here say he is not a center and I agree with that. He needs to play in the halves. But whoever you put at right center won't do well until you fix the current problem. Our halves need to go back to school and lean how to put their centers in an attacking position.

I agree with most of what you have said many people on here are making Kyle the new scapegoat, ask Willie Tonga or Greg Inglis how it feels to play behind a shitty attacking structure. However i don't think the problem is completely in the halves as there is a clear issue with our attacking structure and it has been happening all year... NO ONE seems to know their role.

Not enough room behind a badly beaten pack of forwards. Last night even Ricky Thorby was making lots of metres. For heavens sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You get games where everything is "on" for one side, and the other team just can't get into the game. That was last night. We only had 43% possession to their 57%. It was probably more like 20-80 in the first 20 minutes of the 1st half. And we only completed 17/31 sets. I've seen enough of our team to know that last night was not the real Saints. We'll bounce back.

I don't think the theme in this thread is to make Kyle the scapegoat or to say he is the reason for us going bad. Rather, we'd like to simply see Kyle play where he is more effective - the halves. Done little at the back or in the centers. This is probably where he belongs despite not given a chance yet there. If the reason is because of the halves delivery to the centers then CHANGE THE HALVES as has been suggested for weeks by the majority. Cutters, first grade, I don't care, give Kyle a go next at 6 or 7. He'd go well next to Soward and the team might start scoring some much needed points.

Kyle was found out bigtime at fullback, at Right Centre its less obvious, he is closer to the attack so he can drift sideways like he prefers and he is defending well.. so its not a huge issue.

But its still not working, im sure getting crap ball is a factor, but at no point did he 'look like a center', im sure if you put Cooper over there he would break some tackles & generate some points.

It seems like we keep moving Kyle around to suit whats best for the Dragons (and not Kyle), so I think its time to press the 'reset button', let him play in the cutters in whatever position is the right one (im assuming 5/8), and let him develop.. instead of expecting him to work it out in 1st grade (and out of position).

It seems logical for both Kyle & for StGeorge, and im keen to move Vidot out (hes not working all that well on the left), or try Chase, both are worth a trial I reckon.

Don't know how Chase went, but the Cutters were well beaten.

We haven't had a settled backline at all this year. Style playing fullback didn't work, and its becoming more and more clear that he isn't really a centre. The Morris move to fullback was nice, but that has broken up his combination with Cooper on the left, which has been our main strike weapon the last few years. And of course we have persisted with second rowers in the centres too.

Bottom line is, we haven't developed any combinations whatsoever. We need to settle on a backline and stick with it.

The Cowboys showed us what a clicking backilne should play like.

Yeah I mean our attacking combination issues are not as important as our error rates, defence & 5th tackle options, but its still on the agenda.. and fair call the constant shuffling of positions isnt helping at all..

A fit Cooper will really lift us, and hes starting to get it back, coupla times he looked dangerous last night in a very well beaten side.

Give him time young Kyle, this is his real first full year in FG as a starting player and playing possibly out of position too.
