I saw that quote as well and I was amused that Guler took Flanno's feedback and changes to his game as a positive when in fact Flanno was telling him that he was too stupid to learn a more complicated role. My guess is that Flanno would have told him to play like he's a crash test dummy. Run into the opposition as hard as he can, don't pass, and get up and play the ball quickly.

Sorry, I just realised that's three things.

Surely Tyler Peckham Harris would be worth a shot at fullback in this instance. Sloan has had a fair shot and looks like a defeated man this year.

Who would have thought of the 4 coaches since Wayne left that Mary had the better finals record & recruited better players. He made sure they had a solid creative spine under his reign not a rubbish one. People seem to forget Saints would be in the 8 for a big chunk of the season under Mary for a couple of seasons and then fade. I would rather that now then be constantly out of the 8 and battling for the spoon like the last couple of years.

Very true, but I can’t help but think that whoever Mary wanted, the club would get. Seems that they threw absolutely everything at making sure Mary succeeded.
I’m not so sure Hook and Flanno have been afforded the same luxury. It really is strange.
So yeah, post Bennet era, Mary had the best squad.

Why is there always idiots like yourself who come out and try deflect some blame. Shane is the worst coach we have had in our joint venture and that's fact. Nothing you can say will change it from our history books he is a dud who should never have been allowed to coach a professional sports team again. He was carried by a core group who have been outspoken in the fact they never listened to Flanno and went against his game plan. Jimmy maloney, Lewis, Graham have all said how useless he was.

Shane never had a problem emailing the Sharks after being told it wasn't allowed etc who's to say he isn't involved in some of these piss weak accounts who deflect everything but never once question Shane. Would not surprise me if that prick was up all night making excuses for himself online wouldn't be the first time

Where did I say Shane was a good coach? Are you an imbecile? I don’t want Shane Flanagan either.

our front rowers are a waste of space and add zero in attack and are pretty average enforcers in defence…recruiting dynamic front rowers should be at the top of our priorities.

Definitely strange when the era of Mary as coach and Millward as recruiter produced our most successful team of the last 15 years.
