5 teams on 4 points meaning they’ll need at least 12 wins from the last 16 games to make the finals.
Therefore Warriors, Broncos, Bulldogs, Titans & Cowboys are just about f**ked already.
Up the top, the Roosters & Rabbits look a class above atm.
If we get a few teams breaking away at the top, which is certainly possible, there is some chance 11 wins (or maybe a lucky 10 and draw/good differential) could make the 8. So teams can still make it maybe with 10 from 16. 11 from 16 and 26 points + bye would most likely do it.
But looking at how they are playing, it seems a long shot for any of those teams and I agree they are just about f^%$#d.
Storm, Raiders, and even Manly look pretty good but streaky, definitely Roosters and Rabbits the teams to beat at this stage. But this time last year the Dragons were the team to beat, and flogged the Roosters, and look where they finished. Then the Rabbitohs looked untouchable but by finals time we were as good as them (if we had Graham we may have gone further than they did).
We have been pretty poor at times, but have had one of the more disrupted starts to the season of any team. Our first choice spine looks pretty exciting but has not had much time together, and one of our main weapons in Graham, will only get to play with (hopefully) a stable 1, 6, 7 and 9 by the end of the season. I agree there is plenty of upside left in us, and even if we are not great, we have done well to be where we are and can potentially finish the season well with some luck.
