Only negative from the weekend was Alamoti picking up a dislocated elbow.

Should be ok for round 1 you would think

Three of Casey's tries were walk ins. The try he laid on for CNK was just so classy though. The in and away then fend, hit the jets to beat them on the outside and then the utter poise to thread the pass back on the inside between defenders was something else. Then plucking the ball from outside the field on the run and spinning in the same motion to beat the fullback on his second try, wow. Those are the kinds of freak lightning bolts of class that made Crichton one of the best gamebreakers in the game.

Shows why he isn’t an NRL coach. Leave a middle forward on the bench for 75 mins, and replaced the captain, also a middle forward with the game on the line with a 5/8 With 10 minutes to go!
That was some weird shit. When Yeo came off I thought now we get to some Smith goodness, then on goes Burto. Mal is cooked. Then when he finally went to get Smith on along with Cotter he waited too long and Smith had to wait out the set for a clearly gassed Collins to fall off a tackle for Tonga's last try.

Mal did it in the last game too

Early days with only 5 games played. But Lindsay Smith's workload is up this year:

Averaging an extra 20 run metres and a tick under 3.5 extra tackles a game compared to 2024. His tackle efficiency is very good.

I'd prefer it if Laurie Daley ignores the Kangaroos selectors and leaves him out of the NSW team. Don't want to deprive him of a rep honours but I'd rather see Smith, Leota and Kenny left alone to continue building during the rep season.

I want him to play for nsw. Those rep games especially origin are big for their development.

You don't need to worry about Mitch Kenny mate

We might lose him for one or two games while he gets some of the biggest most intense game experience a player can get. That's a good trade off.

1-4 start to the year. We lose Cleary, Martin and Yeo guaranteed to Origin. Then To'o who is 99% in with Lomax out. Edwards as well. Way too many losses to cover. If we are still interested in winning the 2025 premiership them we don't have time to loan out Smith this year.

Also that predicted spine by Origin:

1. Laurie
6. Tailagi
7. Schneider
9. Kenny

And it doesn't have Yeo there either to help us execute. If not Eisenhuth then Lindsay Smith looks the best lock option with his hands. He just becomes even more important at that point.
