Last Resort

Channel 7 have been showing a trailer for this show over the past week and it looks quite interesting. After doing some research through IMDB, the show has been axed after its first season in the US due to poor ratings associated with competition from more established favourites in the timeslot.

It is due to air in Australia in early 2013 but has been a weekly thing on US television since October. Not being "fast tracked" is a worry.

The local trailer showed action interspersed with the usual romantic/sexual bullshit which is the usual Hollywood fare. What a shame!! Many great storylines get butchered by the occasional bare arse and kiss-kuddle-kum shots.

One of the best books I have read was "A Sum Of All Fears" by Tom Clancy. The movie adaptation was total crap, afflicted by the KKK syndrome.

Has anyone else seen/read or heard about this series?

Funny how all of these shows with rogue government elements getting up to no good never get very far. There's this, the woefully lame Jericho and the awesomely brilliant Rubicon. All cancelled in the first season - though Jericho made it back for a short second season.

I watched the pilot of Last Resort earlier today and it seemed interesting enough to watch a few more episodes of. The acting is pretty average. The scene with the two about to f**k where the woman is providing the exposition about the "prototype" was a bit silly, and people bursting into the room with guns drawn during every phone call gets a bit old.

Still, was watchable at least.

Just watched the first two episodes and it wasn't too bad. The trouble with this genre of series/movie is that while some serious business is going on that is directly connected to the plot, you never find out the consequences.

Bileduct, in the pilot, two nukes are launched towards a certain country. They are tracked and that all we hear about them - nothing about casualties, retaliation...zilch. I feel that they should have expanded on that, but no, Americans being Americans only think of themselves.

Couldn't give too much away for the sake of those who haven't seen it yet.

Yeah that is true veggie. For such an historic event there is no aftermath coverage whatsoever.
