I saw the review of this on the movie show last night it looks really good. Margaret & David gave it **** & ***1/2 stars respectively which is pretty bloody good.

Yeah I agree that they are very good ratings as they are pretty hard markers.

Anyway after seeing it tonight, I will give you my personal rating tomorrow!

Yes, it was a very enjoyable night! It was good to see so many of the Henson Park regulars there and also good to see Vince Mellars there with some family members!

I give the movie a 5 star rating, it depicted what playing football for Newtown and the other clubs was once about. Passion, Loyality, playing with your mates and representing the area. It also displayed how the whole area's community supported the local team year after year through thick and thin.

My only criticism of the movie was that the crowd scenes were too sparse, not being an expert I don't know why they couldn't have used some original crowd scene footage and cut it into the movie.

It was also good seeing Steve O'Brien again and finding out he has branched out into the Poker business. The Poker room at the rissole looked pretty busy.

Cheers BB43 sounds good, I thought the same thing about the crowd when I saw clips. Cutting in the archival footage would have looked pretty dodgy though and I don't think the executive producers would have had the $$ to rent a crowd.

Everyone else is pretty quite, I assume you all made good use of the drink vouchers then.

John Jarratt's character tries to explain the sparse looking crowd by pointing to the club's form and decline. It was a good attempt at a save but the crowd did look too small for a period. I'm sure CGI could have boosted the appearance of the crowd but to be fair, it was a low budget film and it looks fantastic.

Good idea mate. I was at Henson on the day when they filmed a lot of the crowd shots. It looked sparse then. They should have filmed during the semi's etc perhaps but know doubt had to make a timetable. On the day that they filmed the announcer did not give enough warning over the PA that they were about to film crowd shots. Where I was standing groups of people realised at the last moment ( after they started filming ) and discussed going over but decided that they were too late. There were hundreds of people out of camera shot, that were just walking around on the hill on their way for a cold one mate.
