Latrell is not a fullback

I agree on fitness. He is just gassed far too often for a fullback.

He needs a pre-season like Munster did this year.

He can make all highlight reel plays he likes, but if he's letting in as many tries as he's setting up or scoring, from lack of effort and or poor positioning, what's his net contribution worth?

Not to mention that if other merkins have to cover for his lack of effort, and involvement off the ball and in defence, then you've got the added workload and resultant fatigue which shows when it really matters, like last night.

Gimme an Edwards or Gutho type effort on effort player at FB any day of the week over Latrell, but I'd have the merkin at centre no problems. Just not on fullback money.

Anyone judging someone’s career on one game is a dead set idiot.

Problem is the difference between his best game and his worse game is massive. Pretty much totally missing tonight but when he’s on he looks great. Probably 6th best fb in nrl in reality but media love him and souths happy to pay him silly money. If his talent matched his ego he’d be #1.
If taane was the worst player, Latrell was next. In attack, what did he do. Was he hurt in that first half tackle?

Souths are paying him too much to put him in the centres, they just need to get him into shape and work on his positional play in defence.

They need him playing fullback in attack.

They need to work on his positional play in defence and also how he goes about it when the other side makes a break, last night he stood flat footed on his 10m line causing his two wingers to get involved which effectively spelt game over because one of them got sent, 10 minutes later Rabbits made a break Edwards showed how it should be done, attacked the play and made a good legs tackle 35m out.

What do you mean remember when? It's still happening. Happened last night after he helped eliminate Souths.

Mitchell has an incredibly low work rate for a fullback. He's so much better at centre IMO. That's based on his entire career so far. Not one game.

That doesn't mean he's not good at certain aspects or incapable of good games. He's an incredibly talented player. He barely needs to try and he dominates.

Do you remember when Inglis was put in the centres at the rabbits?

Some games he hardly touched the ball, you can't have that with a player your paying more then 1 million.

I honestly think the Rabbits need to decide who is more important to their squad between Mitchell and Walker. Whoever that is plays 5/8, and the other gets hand delivered to the Dolphins.

Rabbits need the X-Factor, play-making ability of either, but also need a fullback who will have more touches, good positioning, and a bit of urgency.

For the money they save, they should be able to buy a player like that.

Latrell is an elite player, ball in hand within the redzone, and occasionally creates stuff from nothing when attacking a poor kick. And he's shown he can defend in the line while playing Centre for the Chooks and Blues.

But he's not a fullback's asshole.
