Soon as I heard Bennett say he was not interested I knew he was good as signedIt's been years since anyone did

I hate the chooks as much as the next guy but it would suck to have developed RTS and LM and have them leave as soon as they’ve hits the big time. But then they snatched Teddy and Keary etc. so it’s swings and roundabouts. Probably the NRL’s fault this can happen. jk
As a fan of a club, seeing a young gun rise through the ranks, become a fg regular and then star, to only leave to another club shortly after, is one of the most disenchanting things that can happen in rugby league fandom.
On Souths side, they’d just be hoping LM has more of a go, more often than last season. They already have one passenger at centre. But they have a million backs so skeletor has plenty of choice. The forward pack though would have to be contending for worst in com.
And good old Angus CrichtonI hate the chooks as much as the next guy but it would suck to have developed RTS and LM and have them leave as soon as they’ve hits the big time. But then they snatched Teddy and Keary etc. so it’s swings and roundabouts. Probably the NRL’s fault this can happen. jk
Keary got kicked out by Crowe, would still be there otherwise. Teddy signed for Canberra before his backflip. He was never going to remain at the Tigers, you’d think.
I say makeshift because there were definite weaknesses. He was not in sync with the attacking structures of the team. But it’s hard to make a full assessment of that as he was fresh off an ACL only returning around mid season, in a new position and only moved there just before the finals. There’s a lot to like with those caveats in mindI thought he was pretty ineffective at the back. It’s all well and good to say he was getting plenty of meters at fullback but he was zero attacking threat in the opposition 20. If you want meters from kick returns you could just play Cam Murray there.
Interesting to see what happens with Douehi. If he wants a spine position he’s likely going to have to wait at least 3 years at Souths or look elsewhere. He’s always looked like an out and out 5/8 to me, could be a similar player to Jack wighton if he uses his size more.
Is Sam's shoulder better yet ? Couldn't be too far off from non-contact training. We have a great back line... Forward pack, not so much.
We lost 2 x Burgesses and Sutton for this year and at this stage, if Arrow stays on the coast, we've replaced them with no one.
Even if we can get Arrow down we probably need at least one more decent forward to sign on. If we can't get Arrow early then we are really struggling in the engine room.
To be fair, Wayne is getting on in years.Wayne ‘we don’t want him’ Bennett. Can anybody take what he ever says again seriously ?

How can Souths have the worst forward pack in the comp when they still have Cameron Murray, Damien Cook, Ethan Lowe and potentially Jai Arrow?
NRL obviously has thrown the "market value" caveat straight out the back door.
Great for Souths, not so good for other clubs who haven't been allowed to in the past.
Consistency is indeed over-rated .
So from a players point of view is this the worst contract negotiations ever? Seems Like he really cost himself a lot of money.
so what do you think his market value is?
