You pay a million bucks to a leader. You're buying more than just their talent and what they do on the field. Latrell can't seem to decide who is advising him or speak on his own behalf. Fair enough, he's only 22.

$800k at the best club in the comp who've shown a shitload of flexibility, care, consideration and support - what the f**k more does he want and what more can he show to earn it?

If you told me 3-4 months ago that in November Latrell would effectively be on the market for next year and clubs weren't going apeshit to get him I'd never believe it.

Sadly, I can see Latrell gone from the game in 5 years time - another lost indigenous player unable to cope with everything that happens in the game and being away from home - an Owen Craigie/Ewan McGrady type.

Guy has loads and loads of talent, but he sure as hell isn't consistent. Can go from best player in the game 1 week to a did he even play player the next.

One of the biggest issues is that, he looks around, and sees what other players are getting and thinks hey, I'm that good or better, I deserve that. He's probably looked at the Turbos on 1m each a season, or Holmes coming back and being offered 1m a season, and thinks to himself, I'm in that category of player, I deserve that too.

But there’s context to the criticism. The club’s offered him a deal that’ll make him the richest centre in the game but says he wants more money because family comes first. Driving around in a luxury car does go against that principle, doesn’t it? I do get your sentiment, though.

Are journalists psychologists now? Sometimes I am unsure some journalists understand the limit to their knowledge given they aren't professional sportsmen.

Latrell imo for one reason or other isn't happy at the Roosters otherwise he would have taken the deal.
