John Hopoate faces a lengthy ban for allegedly threatening interchange official Darren Alchin during Sunday's game against Parramatta. Manly, however, are set to claim the winger was provoked by a sideline official before making the alleged remarks.

Hopoate was referred straight to the judiciary yesterday and will appear tonight on a charge of "contrary conduct - derogatory and threatening remarks to match official". Hopoate was also charged with fighting, for which he can escape suspension if he pleads guilty. Interchange forward Kylie Leuluai will be suspended for one or two weeks if he is found guilty of a grade-three careless high tackle.

Kick Manly out of the comp, getting rid of Hoppa isn't enough

Can't say that Hasler is setting a good example either with his little spits about the ref, pretty sure that the ref didnt cost them being totally flogged by a side that showed more class and hunger.

Although he isn't on my xmas card list, it was cool to hear Gus Gould say during commentary that "Manly started the fight, and Parramatta won that..." then there was "Now Manly is (trying to) play football, and Parramatta is winning that..." or words to that effect...

So proud of the way the boys didn't let themselves get dragged into that pathetic headhunting crap, Vella in particular got snotted from pillar to post but was always taking the first hit-up of the new set of six. NO FEAR Mick V!
