Righto... ive had the same mower for about 8 years, finally she is struggling, not so much with engine performance but the handle on both sides have broken off the main unit, ive repaired with bolts n nuts but im over fixing it. It still gives a good cut (never changed blades ever) but the time has come for a new one...

I have a lot of grass, i live on a corner and have a desent back yard... im thinking of going electric cos im sick of fueling up... and leaning towards cordless to avoid killing myself.

Can anyone talk me into or out of anything, im nowhere near buying yet.

Im open to suggestions...

also im heading up to bunnings to check out some prices but im thinking i wont buy from there, surely there is cheaper places??

ps... im also after a sausage sandwich :)

Victa Corvette 300 - $599-$699 rrp.

Brought one a few weeks back, mowing is enjoyable again (yes, enjoyable).

Stick with Victa, you can't go wrong.

My Masport hasn't missed a beat in 2 years. Would happily buy another.

If you want a rough cut and a mower that won't last for more than a few years buy a cheapie.
Unless you are going to mow every weekend and have a perfect surface, don't bother with mulching mowers.
I have a Masport push mower which is well over 10 years old and works like a charm. Had to replace a Throttle control after lending it to a rockape but other than that just oil and fuel and maybe a plug.
Also have a Cox Rideon (5 acres of yard) after wasting time and money on an MTD (American junk).
If I had to replace either, would go for either another Masport or a Honda in the push variety and a Cox or Greenfield in ride ons.
Regarding Electric Mowers, think of electric power tools.... the cheaper they are, the crappier they are and the shorter the battery life.
Often the best thing on sale at Bunnings is the sausage and onion on bread
