It must have something do to with a threat to Shane Warne, as its mainly Australians that are critical of him.

Yes i know with regards to Walsh and Lillee, but look at the amount of tests Murali has taken to get 700!Its incredible in anyone's language.
Good to see you avoided my post.

Acknowledging a tremendous achievement in an appropriate way shows class - I'm talking about if he breaks the record - a standing ovation would be entirely appropriate, whereever it happens

but some people don't like him, as is their right to their opinion

doesn't men they lack class just because their opinion is not similar to yours

You're missing the point - but I'd imagine you personally wouldn't be booing him if he broke the record.

I think you're missing the point. With respect to McGrath and Warne, particularly McGrath, the English fans certainly wouldnt cheer them on or ever support them. But irrespective of whether we think they're arrogant we English fans certainly do respect them for what they've done in the game. As such we're always the first to appalud them for their achievements.

However, with respect to murali and Aussies, its not so much that you dont like him but more the fact that many of you have a disturbing, nasty, classless hate for him. Hillbilly, yokel type hate (which gets pt on display after a few beers at the MCG and Sydney tests). And consequently many of you would be utterly incapable of even putting that aside for one moment if he were to break the record.

THE voice of ALL English fans...

AND Australian fans also....

I have never read such absolute crap on this forum.

Geebus it is easy to see why English cricket and England generally is such a shambles.

I do not hate him at all.

His actions show him to be an average protecting coward.

Does not mean I hate him.

Not sure why Kiwis want to suck his c**k so bad. But they are entitled to thier opinion.

Abrose was better than Walsh, but Walsh had the record.

No, obviously you're wrong Tommy - twizzle knows everything, just ask him:sarcasm:

Nasty classless hate is a very apt description.

Angry, Kiwis don't like him, many kiwis have been very vocal critics of him. On here, it;s fun to wind you precious merkins up. But again, if he happens to break the record and Aust fans can't grow up for 10 mins it again is a very poor reflection on Australians.

Tommy speaks for all English cricket fans and JJ knows every Australian, not only that he knows what they all think apparently

guess what JJ, Tommy is an Aussie, so ther goes your theory

and apparently all Englishmen and all Aussies are identical according to JJ

we're used to this type of coment Chondricthyes, you're just getting used to it

fact is, that some people, Aussies and anyone else who will witness it, will applaud him and some will not, as is thier right

 indeed - what people seem to miss is that statistics are an pretty accurate representation of performances((especially when you've played 100+ tests), and for all the whinging about doctored wickets and playing weak opposition if you take a quick look at their records side by side, Murali's stacks up very well against any opposition in any country...

So then admit that Murali doesn't stack up against Australia then..i'll happily admit Warne and India don't match!

Murali has 55 wickets against Australia at 31

Warne has 43 wickets against India at 47
(Murali has 67 wickets against India at 32)

Funnily enough, Murali has bowled well against everyone - who would have thought it.

It's not like you have to choose one you know locky
