for those going, I was wondering if you can use this thread to tell us all about the evening.

unfortunately I have work commitments and can't attend

I'm not sure I'm too interested in this night TBH. I know they need votes to get the other 2 guys in, but I'm starting to think 5-2 is not tooo bad of a split.
This still means that Roy is chairman though yeah? Or will that not be the case?

not confirmed as yet, but rumours and reports suggest that Roy will be chairmen with Syd Kelly vice chairmen and if that was the case, then I'd be very happy with the outcome..

also as stated before I'm more than happy with the 5-2 outcome.

I doubt that motion is even going to be put to any vote at the AGM, as to try and go back in time and change the constitiution governing election results would (rightly) be ruled out of order. They could try and change the rule for the future, but that's a different issue altogether, and can be tried in a year's time on its own merits onceeveryone's caught their breath and the emotions have died down.

5-2 is an excellent split imo, considering the 2 are (by virtue of this rule) also FC Directors, and can along with John Chidiak support the interests of the FC Board within the LC. If 3P's elected FC candidates were also LC members, this wouldn't even be an issue.

He certainly seems to already be annointed by the media, but last time it was being discussed on here I thought the Chairperson had to be an FC Director as well (eg John Chidiak)...? Only someone with an LC constitution would be able to clear that one up for us either way.

nope, which is probably why Ovo kept the chairmens job, but I also thought that the chairmen had to come from both boards.

Actually, I just thought of another more important reason why 3P would want the LC board 7-0. That would mean that Hilditch could no longer be Chairman of the FC (as the chairman has to be an LC board member), and so Chidiac would have to be. That would then mean that 3P would now also control the FC board, as Chidiac the new Chairman would have the casting vote in a 4-4 tie!
