Surely Gould is a clear winner.
While not pleasant to look at his personality is far uglier than anything in rL
...and yet he makes a very comfortable living indeed talking and writing about the game, while most of us actually have to work for a crust.

I am afraid my selection of “Roughest Head in the history of Rugby League” could not be considered in accordance with the OP’s two conditions.

Firstly, the criteria clearly states “What Player?”.

Secondly, it is preferred if pictures are presented in evidence. However, I do not wish to perform a Google Image Search of one Raelene Castle.

Great player for Newtown, Redcliffe, Southern Suburbs, NSW, Qld, Australia. Coached premierships at Redcliffe, Valleys. First coach for many Wynnum players who played in their first premiership side. Absolute legend of the game.

(Newtown 1954 GF lost to Souths)

Henry always reminded me of a smashed up Billy J Smith.

They were on the same commentary team a few times in the early 80s.
