39 players so far, with no Leuluai or Ronald Prince? And Moi Moi is there.

And guys like Matthew Nicholas, Zach Russ, Daniel Backo, Kurt Sorenson Jr shouldn't figure in anyone's thoughts for first grade in 2005 given the above.

Not necessarily. Anderson, Afamasaga, Smith B, O'Dwyer - they wouldn't have been considered in the top grade by any means this time last year.

True, except for O'Dwyer, who I think had a full-time (NRL) contract this year.

But I meant more as an indicator of strength, with 40 players above them at this stage, those guys should not be "necessary" for our playing needs. But good luck if they're good enough to force their way into firsts!

Yeah, hopefully Parra won't need to use anymore then 39 (or 40 if Leuluai signs) players next year.

But just because a player is named in that sqaud doesn't mean he'll get into the actually 17 ahead of someone not named in that sqaud

Considering Russ is only 15 and legally a player needs to be 16 and 9 mths before playing in 1st grade then I doubt he will make it in 2005.

I expect Leuluai to officially sign within a week. Another Avenger gut feeling. ;-)

Even if he was 16 and 9 months he'd still get hammered unless he was on steroids or something.

i thought there wouldn't be anything official until after the Tri-Nations.

or is this also your way of telling us that he will be taking no further part in the Tri-Nations with the dislocated shoulder?

Just what we need - a half with a shoulder problem  ....never had one of them - oh yeah, except that one we just pissed off back to cronulla.

His pretty bulky for a young kid. Lets hope the same scenario doesnt happen with this Wee Waa kid as well

I saw the game that he had against GB. I thought he was quite effective. Very fast too.

Yeah but he looked big playing against 15-16 year olds.

Jack Afamasaga looked HUGE in Flegg and Anderson didn't seem that small either yet put them in 1st grade and they both looked a lot smaller.

Yep Leuluai. I agree he had a good game and for mine he outshone Sean Long's first half effort.

So THAT's why we've signed him at 15 :D Keeping the steroid/creatine makers in business!
