Slater didn't cost them the game. The guy on his immediate outside was well marked and the guy outside didn't have a line - to pass to him it would have had to go straight through the centre and the guy marking him.

This isn't a general defense of Slater but in no way did he cost them the game by going back infield after that break.

n if hayne made that exact same play would u come up with that same excuse???
