Lennon could sing.

Imagine versus band on the run   .......no comparison.

Live & let die sounded a million times better by Gunners.

McCartney's brilliance was in his simplicity, and while the stuff he wrote was very admirable for that reason, there's just something about Lennon's work that is absolutely timeless. I'm sure that nobody would have thought much of a song like Tomorrow Never Knows in 1966, because it sounds like something that might have been recorded 30 years later on.

Plus his voice was the best! Twist and Shout still reigns supreme as the most incredible single-take recording ever for sure and it was ALL Lennon.

Lennon, Iam the Walrus, Lucy in the Sky, A Day In The Life just edge out Elanor Rigby n Penny Lane. Just Lennons genius gets my vote.

Too hard to call who was a better songwrite. I prefer Mcartney's songs though.

The Long and Winding Road and Let it Be are my favourite songs by the beatles by a long way. Who wrote Hey Jude?

They were better together than solo. Even the Beatles' songs credited to one or the other were influenced by the other one, IMO.
