This fight is on this Sunday, June 21, yet there has been little or no publicity at all. Most people dont even know it is on. I know Klitschko was a late replacement, but the hype should be huge. This fight has been talked up for years. I am not sure who I am tipping, I would probably go with Lewis although he hasnt fought in over a year and he is getting old. In saying that he is getting better with age, but this has to stop one day. I havnt seen too much of Vitali, I have seen one or two fights. I think he does has a very good chance of winning the fight, especially since it is at such short notice. I dunno, see on Sunday i spose.

This fight reminds me a lot of Jack Johnson vs Jess Willard. A skilled champion who is getting old against a limited challenger who is nothing special. An upset is definitely a possibility and would not surprise me. I think Lewis should be favourite, but i would not be surprised if Vitali gives him a better showing than most people expect.

Man Vitali is a robot just like Drago from Rocky IV. He only has a punchers chance and anything is possible seeing he has that big right hand and Lewis has a dodgy chin.

I wouldn't mind seeing this all over again though

Lewis has weighed in at the heaviest of his career so I wonder if he's in good shape?

It really shouldn't matter against Vitali but I'll wack a few dollars on him for an early stoppage seeing the odds are quite high.

Well Lewis wins unconvincingly by a 6th round TKO because of a bad cut on Klitschko.

Lewis was behind on all the judges scorecards and was rightly booed by the crowd. His post fight interview with Larry Merchant was a joke. Lewis sucks, bring on a re-match.

The Ukranian giant should of put Lewis to rest in the 2nd round. He had a fat and out-of-shape Lewis shaken and stirred a couple of times with two big right handers, but never capitalized on them.

Though Klitschko showed he does have a heart and can handle a punch, he still moves like a geriatric even though he came in shape; an overweight Lewis was not much better.

Kitschko does deserve a rematch, but Lewis will mess up the other side of his face the next time around.

Dr. Wallace, who is ultimately responsible for stopping the bout, later said that he was just doing his job.

"The first time I looked at the cut (after the third round), I thought the corner did a fairly good job on controlling the blood," Wallace said. "It (the cut) never seemed to interfere with Klitschko's defense, so the thought of stopping the fight because of the bleeding was not of any consequence.

"But the second time I went into the corner to see the cut (after the sixth round), I asked him to look at me and when he looked up at me the upper eyelid (that was cut) had fallen in front of his eye and into his field of vision to a point that he had to move his head just to see me. I had to stop it at that point. If he had to do that (move his head) just to see me, he wasn't going to be able to defend himself in the ring."

As for Kitschko leading on all four scorecards before the stoppage, I don't understand this. I also had Lewis 4-2 like the link below

I had Klitschko ahead 4 rounds to 2 as well. i thought Lewis looked heavy. Im not sure if he was slow, but he looked like he was very heavy, and moved according to his body weight. Im spewing, I was supporting him whilst I watched the fight. I only decided before the fight that I was going for Vitali as well. Interesting that in his only 2 defeats he has been well ahead on the score cards but has had to retire. I am up for a rematch, better sooner than later. I reckon 3 months, although everyone knows it is going to be at least 6 months before they both fight again. Boxers just dont fight enough any more. That was what was so good when Mundine first started boxing, there was a Monday night fight every 8 weeks.

hutch, that cut of Vitali's is going to take a looong while to heal properly. A rematch is in order and if Lewis decides to go and figh Roy Jones then he can get stuffed. Vitali has earnt a rematch first.

Lewis VS Jones Jnr?

Now that would break some box office/pay-per-view records. It's inevitable IMO. But Kitschko does deserve a rematch.

I am not so sure that he does deserve a rematch as a matter of right. He fought very well but the fact is that he was stopped by the champion. I think he should fight Chris Byrd, Tyson, Tua, or some other top ten fighter before he gets the immediate rematch that everybody wants. Lewis' poor performance has opened the door for someone else to have a fight.

I am going to come into criticism here but I think that Roy Jones Jr should be gtiven the next shot at Lewis. In fact, i think he will cause a huge upset and actually beat him.
