Compared to Staines we are in great shape. Anyone want a job, I think there will be one going for a coach at Kogarah by the end of the week! I would think McGregor has already been given the word...

I think he's a dead man walking. The players are not playing for him.

Anthony Griffin will coach the Dragons, if they can afford him. The man asks a for a high price due to his impressive record in first grade.

Hooks style would suit these new rules. Most teams are playing flat and getting getting over the advantage line asap just like he had us playing. The no attacking kicks rule would still be a flop though.

If they didnt sack Mary after last week I am not sure they will. There is talk on the dragons forum of a massive rift on the playing group around JDB, no idea if true or not but Hadley was banging on about it so i think this will be the excuse for the board to keep him and not pay him out.

I think the reality is they won't be able to afford him. Flanagan is their man and they will probably put in a caretaker like Dean Young.

The Broncos, however....Broncos 2020 is very similar to Panthers 2017. Extremely youthful side, need an experienced coach to guide them.

I think Griffin is exactly the type of coach the Dragons could benefit from for a couple of seasons, in a rebuild situation. And they are going to be in a total rebuild situation. Not a coach that will bring them success in the short term, but definitely more than capable to out with the old in with the new. I don’t think there is any coach on the planet who could turn this club’s fortune’s around short term. They need a massive clean out pure and simple.

I want Hook to sign with Cronulla just so he can turf Moylan again.

Like @betcats said, Sir Hooks complicated game plans would actually be a major success with the current pace of play. The man was ahead of his time.

Ahead of his time or stuck in the past depending on where you stand lol either way I can't deny he would likely do well with these new rules and a half decent squad.

Haven't Dragons fans been through enough guys!?!?

They have been going through some really tough times, particularly given they think they have a top 8 roster?

Do you think Hook could be beneficial for them for say three seasons? I’m not talking getting them to top four but just getting things on the right foot again. I think he could?

His style of being the fittest team and quick play through the middle would be very good for a team like the Dragons and even more so with the faster game now.

Positive. I can do that.
How good is Billy Kikau? Might have been the hairdo, but I really noticed him last game. The guy chases kicks, takes to air if he has to. He goes hunting in defence. Has a nice shimmey shimmey whoosh and a flick pass.

Edit - and he's fkn massive.

Kikau will have to be a beast tonight. Can’t do it by himself so hopefully our attacking plays get the best out of him.

Despite being pretty pissed with last nights result and the knights result and despite the fact Ivan isn’t picking the team I want I am pretty positive about the start to the year. 1 loss in 5 outings is a good start and there is plenty of improvement in this side.

Last night we very much held our own in a high quality game against the comp leaders and we beat last years premiers in round 1 though they weren’t at their best. If we can get a result against Melbourne next week and I’m going to start predicting top four.

Last night was state of origin intensity. Frustrating and amazing in one game. Like you I'm picking top 4 if we have a good week next week. I'm almost tempted now but trying to be cautious.
