Not the best shot but in 2007 France were playing in a royal blue jersey with white & red chevrons, white shorts and red socks, why did they steer way from that? Their traditional kit was much better than anything they've put out since, most of which were Navy blue.

They Kiwis once used a white shirt with double black chevron when they played in PNG. The shirt was basically a negative of their usual mainly black one.
