Foxe handed Leeds chance

Friday 11 Aug 2006 Leeds United boss Kevin Blackwell has moved to strengthen his defence by handing a five-month contract to Hayden Foxe.
The former Australia international has had a long spell out of professional football with a foot injury, but his performances during a recent trial spell at Elland Road persuaded Blackwell to give him the chance to resurrect his career.
The 29-year-old goes straight into the Leeds squad for Sunday's Championship clash against Crystal Palace.
Foxe has plenty of experience of English football having previously had spells with West Ham and Portsmouth

I don't think Leeds were 'lucky' as such. They dominated a good portion of the goal and it was only 'luck' that kept Sheffield Wednesday in it at that point. I agree that he looked offside from the penalty, but given the way Leeds had been controlling things - the result was deserved.
