Rumour on MMM is that the Tiges are close to signing Liam Messam.

Rugby player for the Waikato Chiefs.

Ive never heard of him, but the Chiefs are doing OK this year and hes a big enough unit.

He would be an absolute star in rugby league if it happens big, quick, great skills (named in nz best ever sevens team) , good defender. Would like any take a little while to adapt but definite first grade material

I would say we are no chance, he would be on big money already in NZ but if we did snag him he would be a very good buy,big fast and hard. My only concern would be his age,I read he is 28, getting old to be making a code change

If we want a big human in the forwards, we'd be better off snaring someone like Eorl Crabtree from Huddersfield.

Near 200cm tall and not much under 120kegs and runs hard, typical old school pommie forward. Similar style to Ellis
