f**k me he it was his first game in the top grade his match fitness will pick up. I would rather us persist with Lichaa and Panani than Prior Ayshford Holdsworth and Vave them four can go down to reggies and they can take Jono Wright with them.

We are stuck with the 4. Due to the Alliance with the Storm we only have about 8 starters in Reggies. D FIfita doesn't start.

Reefy and Co talk about Supoaga and Morris. Well Michael Morris has to be close. Tim Robinson must get the call if Prior gets a week.

The backs is a disaster. Drop anyone and Stapo will get the call.

Reefy was bagging Peachey in the first round asking us to switch to Foxsports to watch him fail.
Hope he was tuned in to Fox to see his highly talked up Supoaga do nothing. Let's see if Peach can go better against the Dogs. Wouldn't be hard.

The moral for some of you is exactly what the coaches do. Recruit NRL journeymen on low wages and hope they can be transformed into decent players. Most cant. Stuff our juniors too. Didn't we get the message when Bellamy couldn't work magic with Vave. Holmes could be Milford for all we will ever know.

I had to laugh when the missus said Prior reminded her of Mills with his weird jump and running style.

This year is going to be tough on the Inverse 3,2,1s. So many contenders. TV talking up Widdop as buy of the year. No mention of Prior but it is early days. Holdsworth was always a replacement half. Look at our squad Prior recruited for top 17. Maybe we can go after Dan Hunt or Luke Bailey next.

Lichaa played for 40, made 28 tackles with 2 ineffective and 2 misses.

De Gois last week played for 38, made 20 tackles with 4 ineffective and 2 misses.

Not that much of a difference really...

If he hadn't signed with the Bulldogs the same people would be saying they liked what they saw from him in a solid debut

Gee up thread.
While team played like busted's.

Lichaa ok
Penani ok

Too many times on the last we looked devoid of options and ideas. Someone needed to stand up - no one did.

but he hasnt signed with them yet.

Meant to say allegedly but the point stands. I'm a Bulldogs fan and I don't think you can read to much into his debut. Forward pack was dominated but he looked ok. Nothing special, no mistakes but he didn't look out of place

I agree with Reefy. Give Ayshford, Prior, Holdsworth and Degois a bit more time to get up to match speed and they will be much better prospects than Lichha. The dogs have bought someone that clearly isn't up to it.

Typical Reef thread, riling the masses. Good thread though, gets the discussion out of the game day thread.

I thought both Lichaa and Penani went okay. I'd keep them in the top grade for the next few weeks. Our pack was crap and gave them nothing.

Lichaa was good in defense, crunching Tolman and knocking the ball out of Williams arms. He also spent most of his time on the field without Gibbs or Taga.

Apart from a couple of wobbly kicks, in general Penani's kicks were better than Holdsworth's. Depending when Carney comes back, I would like to keep Penani and drop Holdsworth.

Sopa's not bad either, I reckon he'll come good.

I always think it's funny when we see these kids come up and go to take off at speed only to find no-one following or someone (from their own team) running into them. Our team just has no structure or shape, it's terrible.

Prior and Wright are woeful. I would actually drop Prior even in our depleted state and bring up Robinson. Probably put Stapo in for Wright also. We need his hit-ups, how often does Wright roll up his sleeves and do the hard stuff in our own 20?

Good stats that put an end to the 'bring back degoose' argument IMO. Much more upside with the young bloke. Lichaa is the future (hope we can somehow retain him) and degois is a very sad shadow of the player he once was.
Anyway, didn't Mills have an outstanding debut? I remember Gus crapping on about it. My point is that one game means nothing.

If Lichaa does sign with the Dogs then there is no way we should play him ! wtf should we break him in 1st grade, get his 1st year under his belt which only helps the dogs?? Bollocks to that he can sit in reggies until his bus leaves for Belmore at the end of the year!

IDG has been great for us in the past, he brings energy when he comes on - I admit his last few games last year plus last week were average but who wasn't average last week!

If you guys think that right now Lichaa is better than IDG than that'll do me !!

I'm not saying that he won't be in the future but right now IDG is the better option.

Now if Lichaa stays then it's worth us blooding him this year because he'll be better for it next year otherwise keep him in reggies so the Dogs can blood him!! It's business remember why should we do him/Bulldogs any favours ??

Do want us to drop Fifita too? Play the best team.

I didn't see any intercepts from dummy half this week so the further De Gois is away first grade the happier I am.

When he came back from Newcastle he wasn't the same. He's no where near first grade standard and will now never be.

Lichaa will only improve.

On top of his nerves, Penani was overcalled constantly by Wade, Holdsworth and Morris. He needs to be the shot caller in his position. behind a dominated pack and being overcalled on everything they may as well have played Wade in the 6 because Penani was never going to be given a chance to play his own game.

Mate it's a completely different scenario Fifita is established and Lichaa is a rookie, I'm saying every rookie needs at least a year so why should we blood him?

Guess that'll do you, because that is exactly what most of us are saying, aside from reefy of course, who seems to always go the opposite way to everyone else.
