Still better to give out info rather than hold it in. Townies are going to die irrespective of whether they're outed or not; easier to work out who isn't a townie when the list is shorter.

Not so sure... if an investigator were to come out and say "Hey, I discovered that .... is a townie last night", the mafia will them out the fear of being discovered.

An investigator is better placed shutting up until they either hit a scum, or see someone they know is a townie, about to be lynched.
