The bottom line is they want to protect their players. If it means getting rid of the cap then so be it. If it comes to that, Easts will do what they have to do. The Roosters have Gallop cornered. The Roosters could easily survive without a salary cap in place.

See how cornered Gallop is when any legal action is thrown out of court in 5 mins, and the feather dusters are told to pull their heads in or bugger off

The salary cap is illegal. If it goes to court, the Roosters will win. If Gallop has half a brain he'll do the right thing and raise the cap.

When the courts rule on this case they will have to consider the wider implications of deeming the salary cap illegal. At least three other sports in Australia have a salary cap and this ruling would affect them too. This case will not just be about whether the cap restricts trade for the Roosters. This will be about whether the salary cap restricts trade for all sporting clubs that have a salary cap to deal with. Considering that so many different clubs and sports have no problem with a salary cap it really makes the Roosters look like the whinging losers they are.

No it doesn't. This is about the Roosters standing up for themselves and not having their club ruled by something that for all intents and purposes is illegal. It's not the Roosters concern what happens to other clubs or other codes. The Roosters will be quite happy if the NRL raises the cap but if that doesn't eventuate then they will pursue it further and it makes me proud that my club has the courage of it's convictions.

Regardless of what you think, and the Roosters think about other clubs and codes, ie you might not give a f**k, but the courts have to and will consider all and not just the Roosters. And the courts can make the cap legal, like it or not.

Oi Coggie, do you have this saved in a .txt somewhere you just paste it from.? Is it an officially supplied debunking tool?

If by a snowballs chance in hell any court action is successful. And when there are six teams left in the comp, as all the others have gone bankrupt. Maybe then the feather dusters will be satisfied

Your club won't have the courage of it's convictions, RC. You know they are just bluffing to get a little raise in the cap. The NRL will call their bluff and that will be the end of it. There will be no abolishment of any salary caps.
