Not sure what kind of Oxford St pubs you were drinking at when you were up here, but I can honestly say as someone born & bred in Sydney - and a regular pub & club go-er - that I have never heard the term 'Pony' used in relation to beer in my entire LIFE! Has anyione else from Sydney here ever asked for, or been served a - pony??? :?
You are such an hysterical pain in the @rse Iceman - you get so worked up over absolutely nothing - and are a prime example of why many Sydney & Brisbane people laugh @ you Mexicans and your 'righteous holier-than-thou anger' the minute anyone says something about Melbourne that is not 100% "Isn't Melbourne and Victoria just the BEST?!!!!!!!!!!! Don't you AGREE!??!?! Like, how GOOD are we?! SO much better than anyone else!!!!!!!!!!"
Little Brother syndrome DELUXE!
But I don't think you're all like that - I am aware that's just a generalisation! But for every 20 level headed and rational Melrournians - there'll be one like you! You are just a complete Melbourne stereotype! And don't think I don't note the distinct lack of your fellow Melbournians in here defening your cause - The only idiot here - is you, I'm afraid!
Doubt you'd see ponys anywhere these days.
When i was a kid, you'd have the public bar and then the salloon bar, or Ladies bar where the Mrs went or some of the 'upmarket' pubs even admitted kids too in that area and served meals..rare though.
The ladies used to drink ponies...or sevens...7 oz ers....most of em....a couple of sevens of reschs and a bex or two got you off apparently...they werent allowed in the public bars...I remember my dad used to sneak me into ashfield pub and sit me in the corner, get me a middie od sarssparilla...they had a little window in the wall at the end of the bar that the women in the 'ladies' could order their drinks from.
Ponies, schooners, middies, pots.....at least a pint is what it says...a pint.
Dunno if you can get them anywhere anymore, dont drink no more.
