Linkin Park - Rate them or Not?

I've haven't heard their albums in full. I've been told their last one had about 13 tracks and lasted all of 35 minutes which is pretty weak if you ask me. Add to that their single shite me up the wall and I don't rate them at all.

I quite like them actually, but then I'm not one of those people who is concerned with what real rock should be. I dont care if they're seen as a boyband with guitars, because well, I like boy bands!

No way are Powderfinger better than Linkin Park! Powder Finger aren't distinctive enough for mine, whereas you can instantly tell a Linkin Park song, even if you haven't heard it before. I must admit though, while I can be in any sort of mood to want to listen to a band like Blink 182, I have to be in a certain mood to put on the 'Park...

linkin park or niknil krap as i like to call them are shit! its already been said but their songs are all the same it seems. they are almost as one dimensional as eminem.

I've heard a great story about Linkin Park. Apparently they were originally called Hybrid Theory (which is the title of their first album), but their record label got them to change their name to Linkin Park. The reason? because CD racks are arranged alphabetically, and Linkin Park would end up right behind Limp Bizkit, and they wanted to get a piggy-back off Limp Bizkit's popularity at the time.
As far as their music goes I don't rate it: tame, manufactured nu-metal/punk.

I've got Hybrid Theory, but it's now just in my rack gathering dust. I don't think I've played it for quite a while.

Papercut is a good song though, I'll pay that.

But yeah, just like Nickelback and The Vines - their stuff sounds all the same.

Basically I agree with every anti-LP post. Their songs all sound the same and are about the same things. They, along with Nickelback are one of the most overrated bands. All the whinging shite gets so old after three songs... there's a few good lyrics here and there but you'd think they'd sing about something different once in a while.

I mean nu-metal is generally quite crap in my opinion, barring some OK stuff from Sevendust, SOAD, and Deftones are a good band. But Linkin Park?!! :? Seriously, there's so much better stuff out there.

Replace all your Linkin Park cds with Black Sabbath immediately!!!
