Live (or near live) finals broadcasts in Melbourne???

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.

As Channel 9 isn't showing the finals live down here and Fox will only have delayed broadcasts as well, is there a special location where the matches will be shown live or near live for Melbourne based fans? or will we just get shafted??

Any help would be appreciated!!!

f**k Channel 9 have rocks in their head! Why not show the finals on Friday andSaturday night? We all know the AFL will decimate ANYTHING on Channel 9 and 7 on the weekend. what have they got to lose?

That so was so not the answer I wanted to hear!!!

I'm a Raiders fan and our match against the Doggies won't even be shown on Channel 9 because of the US Open :x :x :x

And to think I prayed for us to win last weekend so we wouldn't need to play the Storm at the house of pain.....

At least I would've got to see the match.

The best place to watch League in Melbourne (IMO) is the Rising Sun Hotel on the corner of Swan and Burnley Sts in Richmond. As they are a sponsor of the Storm League ALWAYS takes presidence over AFL on the big screen. Channel 9 games come in on Impaja, the rest of Fox.

I'd say it does.

The Charles Dicken Tavern is also a good chance of showing it live.

SEN will have a live radio feed (2GB) of all the games.

Impaja is a central Australian satellite TV station that has all codes of football. I was watching the NRL finals live on Impaja 3 years ago on Lord Howe Island, of all places. Channel 9 games come in via the satellite at the Rising Sun on the big screen when there are no games on Fox.

Spot on, usually the satelite can be tuned to Chanel 9 NT for SOO games for instance.


If anyones ever been to a pub in Melbourne showing a game not on Fox or FTA - This is how they are doing it.

Have spoken to a bloke at the Rising Sun, and the Raiders V Doggies match will be on at 11:30pm tonight - F%*K.

So I'm guessing that the Broncs V Drags will be on at 9:30.
