If they were losing it would be torture watching on wondering what could have been had you played.

Not at all IMO, he has achieved everything he can in the game. Life is full of disappointments.

He has a young son and possibly more kids. Putting his long term health ahead of a game of footy is ridiculous.

but thats the question isnt it? how much possible damage can he do?

I agree he's acheived everything in the game, and realistically if this wasnt his last season he p[robably wouldnt play.

the surgeon who operated on lockyer reportedly believes he can play if he can get through the swelling and play with pain. Nathan Gibbs is an ex-manly doctor who's also responsible for the "he could die" headline used in 97 in relation to andrew johns playing the gf

Manly is probably the team he wouldnt want to play given williams and matai are on that side of the field and watmough too (i think)

I agree, IMO i would hate to see him seriously hurt and carried from the field this week with the Broncos losing. I would much rather prefer to have the last image of Lockyer as the fella that got off the ground after breaking his cheek and kicking the winning FG in front of a packed Suncorp stadium.

To me, that was the perfect send off. He has achieved everything and then more. He has nothing to prove to anyone.

I am sure a GF win would be the ultimate, but there is a lot to do before even contemplating that, and at the risk of it not happening, IMO i would like to have seen him go out like a champion last sat night. As he deserves in front of his home ground and in a remarkable game with the most courageous effort from him to get them over the line.

Griffin will switch Lockyer to the right wing in defence so he's marking Robertson.

He'll be relatively right.
